Take a little time and make this wall unit organizer and see what a difference it will make for you. It will allow you more space to put the things that you need to find easily. Read on to find out how you can make your very own wall unit organizer using a shutter and stay organized and keep things in place so that you can always find them.
Things that you will need
A shutter (can be found in a thrift shop or at a garage sale or you can buy a new one at various department and home repair stores)
A large hard board
Hammer
Nails
Paint or stain
Steps to making your wall unit organizer
You can paint or stain the front of the shutter. Make sure that you let it dry before continuing. You should put newspaper down or a plastic covering to protect the surface that you are working on. Make sure that all valuables are moved out of the way so that they do not get damaged while you are working.
Turn the shutter over and attach the board to the back of the shutter. Be sure that you have the right sized nails so that they do not come through and stick out of the other end of the shutter. If you do run into a problem, be sure to put putty over the exposed nail. You can then paint or stain it to cover it up.
Turn the shutter unit over and then place it with the slots facing upwards. This is an important step, so in fact, the shutter is upside down.
Attach this unit to the wall with nails. Be sure that it is straight across.
You can then put letters, papers and other items into the slots.
Other Tips
You can personalize your unit with stickers or other decorations. Make it your very own part of the home.
Use these in all of your rooms because they make an excellent place to store mail and other items. They are relatively easy to make and they come in very handy.
If you have several people in your home, then you may wish to make one for each person. Let them decorate it how they want. This is great in kids' rooms because they can really personalize it and make it their very own.
