1. Have a potluck. As many people may agree, there is nothing like a home-cooked meal. Therefore, have the dinner at the home of the bride and groom or of a friend or family member. The goal is to keep it simple yet enjoy the moment. This is such a personal occasion used for the bridal party to relax before stepping into the wedding date. What is more cozy or comfortable than home? Each person can bring a dish of their choice, while others can be assigned to bring drinks, plates, and utensils. This allows for a variety of food, a comfortable atmosphere, and relaxation.
2. Have a barbecue. Why not have the rehearsal dinner in the afternoon? Why not have a barbecue? Both spring and summer make great cook-out seasons and the backyard allows a lot of room for fun. So, get out the grill, choose your favorite music, and set out the lawn furniture. Instead of sitting inside a restaurant, be outside enjoying the weather. This can occur in locations such as the local park or even at your own home. Once again, you can assign who will bring certain types of foods or you could pick up foods in bulk from your local grocery store.
3. All you can eat. If you would like to stay with the tradition of meeting at a restaurant, why not make it an all-you-can-eat location? Of course, make sure it is a nice atmosphere where you could even reserve a banquet room. Explore the menu to ensure the diversity in the meal and determine if there is a discount based on the number of persons who attend.
When it comes to the rehearsal dinner remember that you do have options. Consider what may make this day special, relaxing, and fun for you. Determine the time of day, whether it could be indoors or outside, and the type of meal your guests may enjoy. Overall, feel comfortable in stepping outside of the box and making your rehearsal dinner unique.
