Make Winter Easier by Organizing Your Winter Gear

If you're like most people, you get really mad for one of three reasons: 1. You never thought to buy a lock de-icer spray for your car before the winter; 2. You bought one but don't remember where you put it; 3. It's in the car. The best way to make winter life easier on you is to organize your winter supplies. Here's how:

1. Keep all winter car supplies in a basket or bucket or some kind of large container near your door. This includes antifreeze; de-icing sprays and scrapers for your lock, windshield, windows and doors; and silicone products to prevent ice build-up.

2. Keep winter car supplies in your car, also, in case you travel somewhere and need these supplies on the road.

3. Put a stack of old newspapers near your door (out of sight if you can). Use these to stuff wet shoes and boots. The newspaper is great for soaking up excess water, and you'll be amazed to find that your footwear is dry the next morning.

4. Stash away a pair of slippers or socks near your door so you don't have to walk barefoot after removing your wet

5. Right outside your front door, keep a replenished bucket of sand or whatever you use to break up dangerous ice patches where you walk. The key here is replenishment. Pick a regular time to return sand into the bucket, so that you will always have a supply when you need it.

6. Are you the type that loses at least one glove or mitten each season? If so, then have an extra set near your door. This will prevent winter rage when you discover that it's below freezing and you're missing something to keep your hands warm.

7. If winter itch and dryness are problems for you, keep a jar of hand cream and a tube of lip balm nearby so you can apply it when you leave the house.

To keep comfortable in winter, you need a lot of supplies. Keep them near your door-and you'll make leaving and coming back to your home a lot warmer and more convenient.
