Make-at-Home Hair Care Products

W.S.
Make-at-home hair care products are inexpensive and most of the time, superior to store-bought hair care products. In this article, I will examine some of the best make-at-home hair care products that I use successfully on a regular basis.

Make-At-Home Hair Care Products - Herbal Rinse

This is one of the make-at-home hair care products that I use daily, after washing my hair. It softens the hair and works in place of a cream conditioner. The apple cider vinegar heals and soothes the scalp, preventing dandruff and making the hair soft and shiny. This is one of the make-at-home hair care products that work well for all hair types. Don't worry. Your hair won't smell like vinegar. The smell dissipates quickly when you rinse. It's recommended that you use the herbal rinse with the other make-at-home hair care products.

Ingredients:

2 cups distilled water

½ cup apple cider vinegar

2 ½ tablespoons dried rosemary

2 ½ tablespoons dried nettle

10 drops essential oil of rosemary

5 drops essential oil of lavender

Directions:

1. Combine water and vinegar in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

2. Remove from heat and add herbs. Cover and allow the mixture to steep for about two hours.

3. Strain, add the essential oil and bottle in a clean, sterile bottle.

Apply about ¼ cup to wet scalp and massage for a few minutes before rinsing thoroughly with cool water. This is one of the make-at-home hair care products that need no refrigeration. Yields about ten treatments.

Make-At-Home Hair Care Products - Hair Sheen

This is one of the make-at-home hair care products that are useful for normal and dry hair. Use this hair sheen after shampooing to make the hair fragrant and shiny. It's recommended that you use the hair sheen with the other make-at-home hair care products.

Ingredients:

Essential oil of rosemary or lavender

Directions:

1. Place five drops of essential oil in the palm of your hand. (You may mix the oils if you wish.)

2. Rub your palms together and gently scrunch into your wet hair. Make sure you distribute the oil evenly throughout your hair.

If you blow dry your hair, this is one of the make-at-home hair care products that should be applied in the middle of the drying process.

Make-At-Home Hair Care Products - Natural Deep Conditioner

This is one of the make-at-home hair care products that will deep condition your hair. It works like any store bought deep conditioning treatment. It's ideal for dry, sun-damaged or chemically treated hair. Your hair will be soft, silky and smooth once you've used this make-at-home hair care product. It's recommended that you use the natural deep conditioner with the other make-at-home hair care products.

Ingredients:

¼ cup jojoba, virgin olive or sweet almond oil

10-15 drops essential oil of lavender or rosemary

Directions:

1. Combine the ingredients in a small bowl.

2. Apply to damp, clean hair, making sure to thoroughly coat all the hair. You may need to use more base oil if you have very long hair.

3. Cover your hair with a shower cap or plastic bag/wrap. Cover this with a hot, damp towel. The heat will ensure that the oil penetrates and conditions your hair.
4. After thirty minutes, remove the towel and shower cap. Shampoo the hair twice to remove all the oil.

Used in conjunction, or alone, these make-at-home hair care products will repair damaged hair and give you a beautiful, healthy head of hair. Enjoy!

Some day, I wish you would write an article about how you learned how to do just about everything in the world... and to write such clear instructions that the rest of us can follow!

I've used vinegar in the past as a hair rinse as well as lemon juice. I'm going to give these make-at-home products a try.
