Makeup for Allergy Prone Sensitive Skin: Organic Wear by Physician's Formula
A First-Hand Product Review
Organic wear - What Is It?
Physician's Formula is a line of cosmetics found in most national chains. Their new line is called Organic wear and is the first ECOCERT certified line of organic makeup in the United States. These products are made from natural ingredients with the intent to be natural and gentle to your skin.
Organic wear products do not contain irritating chemicals, preservatives, parabens, or fragrances. In addition, these products are not tested on animals.
Another attractive aspect to Organic wear line is that all the packaging is environmentally friendly and uses up to 93% less plastic than traditional cosmetic products.
Organic wear - What Products Are Available?
This cosmetic line contains everything from pressed powder to foundations to eye shadow to lip gloss to makeup remover. I did find that the eye shadows are limited to just one paper compact for each eye color category: brown eyes, hazel eyes, blue eyes, and green eyes. However, if you want the natural look, then these shadows will perfectly complement your coloring.
You can find these products at reasonable prices at many national chains or via the Organic wear website.
The website provides application directions for each product as well as an exact list of ingredients.
Organic wear - Do the Products Work?
I suffer from terrible allergies to most cosmetic lines. I get red, itchy skin from foundations and eye shadows. With some foundations and powders, I get an immediate burning reaction on my skin.
I purchased 3 initial products from the Organic wear line to test on my skin: the liquid foundation in classic ivory (with SPF 15) for $13.95, the matte finishing veil powder in translucent for $13.95, and the concealer stick in fair for $6.95. After using these products for 3 weeks, I noticed NO skin reactions! The total cost for these 3 products came to
I also noticed that the red inflammation on my eyelids from prior cosmetic lines had cleared up. I am now using an eye shadow duo for $7.95 from Organic wear without any skin irritation.
As a result of testing this product line for over a month, I highly recommend these cosmetics for anyone with sensitive skin, allergy prone skin, or those who want an environmentally friendly product. I hope that Physician's Formula continues to manufacture this line and to enhance it with additional color choices.
