For copyright reasons I can't actually use the Salt movie poster with Angelina Jolie, thus the use of another photo.
The first thing of course is to gather your tools. What you'll need to create this look are some brushes, one regular shadow brush and a fluffy one. Concealer, powder, a pinky-nude lipstick, a clear or pink tinted lip gloss, a pair of ultra dramatic femme-fatale-isque false lashes, black mascara, black pencil liner, a copper brown shadow, matte brown shadow and a matte shadow for your brow that's as close to your skin tone as possible.
Evelyn Salt's look is a little smoky. It's a fierce but yet simple look. It's all in the eyes. Eyes that say, 'I'm dangerous.' Before applying any type of makeup always prep your skin, i.e. moisturizer and apply primer. The next step is to apply concealer -- cover up any imperfections. If you have nice skin powder and be skipped, but if you need the extra coverage apply powder lightly, making your canvas as clean as possible.
For the main attraction, the eyes. Start off by applying the copper brown shadow along the inner one-third of your lid, keeping it below your crease. Then apply the matte brown from where that color ends and working out, keeping it below the crease. Take the fluffy brush and blend to soften the harsh edges. Now take the flesh tone matte shadow and apply it along the inner corners of your eyes and brow bone. This will soften the look a little and make the center pop more, as well as define the brows.
The rest of the eyes is just playing up the shape. You'll want to curl your lashes then apply your false lashes. Once the glue is dry apply a few coats of mascara to blend your own lash with the false lashes. Take your black pencil line and line from the inner corner out along your lash line and waterline. Then finish off by applying a coat of mascara to your lower lash line.
The last step is to do your eyebrows, if they're thin or sparse. Fill them in, define them but keep them pretty natural looking. Then apply your lipstick and lip gloss. The lipstick color is soft, but still has a hint of color. The lip gloss will give that wet appearance. And there you go, you now have the Evelyn Salt look. I feel it's a great every day look that's sultry but yet subtle enough it can be pulled off during the day.
