Makeup and Beauty Brands Priced for Your Budget

Gwendolyn Taylor
Most people turn to the regular popular brands for their beauty needs. Yet, when times are tough why not try out brands that offer the same kinds of products for a fraction of the cost? Here are some not as well-know brands that will save you money and could potentially end up being one of your favorites!

e.l.f. (Eyes Lips Face)
I recently discovered this brand in my local Target store and I was blown away by their selection and pricings. They offered everything from lip gloss to liquid foundation to powder brushes. Here is the kicker, most of these were priced at three dollars or less, and most of them were only retailing for a dollar each! I am a big fan of their lip glosses because lip gloss prices have climbed dramatically over the past few years, and personally, I find it a bit ridiculous to be paying more than five dollars for one lip gloss tube. e.l.f.'s lip glosses only cost one dollar each and have very pretty shades. e.l.f. beauty products can be found at Target stores, but can also be purchased at Kmart and Food For Less stores.

Essence Cosmetics

I came across this brand at ULTA, a specialty beauty store. They are actually a European based brand and their products in their collections were very cute and petite looking and so were their prices. They offered everything from crème nail polishes to shimmering eye shadows. They do offer seasonal collections, particularly with their nail lacquers. Their pricing range from ninety-nine cents to four dollars.

Other Brands
Other inexpensive beauty product brands that tend to be more widely recognized include N.Y.C. Cosmetics and Wet N Wild. Both of these brands seem to be more popular for their wide selection nail polish products, but also carry eye and lip makeup, and the occasional face powder or foundation. Although, in my opinion, these brands' products quality do not seem to match to that of Essence Cosmetics and e.l.f.'s. These brands' products are more accessible and can be found a drugstores, mass merchandise store, and specialty beauty stores. Their products usually range from one to five dollars.
