Assuming you have one, use an eyelash curler to gently lift the lashes to already give them a more voluminous look. The key to no clump mascara is to make sure there are no clumps on the brush before even applying. Then carefully stroke individual groups of lashes to spread them out and give them a fuller all around look. As for shades, for brown eyes you would either want what most drugstores and or makeup lines call "very black" or Cover Girl's very own Eyelights Mascara.
Once you have applied all the mascara you desire, frame your eyes with some waterproof eyeliner. No matter what your eye color, eyeliner always brings out the best in them. The greatest results though have come from waterproof eyeliner because it is much less likely to smudge. When smudges do occur, under almost any eye color you practically look like death, especially when eyeliner's black. Brown eyes specifically are usually best brought out by black waterproof eyeliner similar to the very black mascara.
After all other eye makeup has been put on, get ready for the final touches. This would include shimmery shadows and a small squirt and or puff of foundation under the eyes to cover up dark circles. Now just because the other eyes makeup so far has been dark, certainly does not mean that the shadow must or even should be. In fact very light shadows such as an icy blue or a shining tan like color really compliments brown eyes. Many makeup techniques I've come across in the past have had be lightly brushing these shadows on. Recently I found that the cleanest least chalky look comes in a tube in liquid like form. You take a small dab and glide it on right over the upper lash line. Like I said before, covering up dark circles under your eyes may not be such a bad idea either since dark circles can be slightly distracting to your gorgeous eye color.
