Makeup Brush Review: E.L.F.'s Foundation Brush

Ordering makeup online is risky. You don't know how the product feels on your skin, if you like the quality, and so much more. There are questions that you want answered before you throw money into a product.

I am here to answer your questions about makeup products before you purchase. I have personally purchased and tested each product I review to optimize your overall opinion.

Right now we are going to take a look at e.l.f.'s Foundation brush. During this review we are going to talk about the bristles, application process, and overall quality.

Bristles:

When looking for a foundation brush, you should seek out extremely soft bristles. The bristles should be pressed together and cut in a rounded tip or squared off tip. The bristles should not be evenly cut with one another, but, instead, have a variety of lengths.

The first thing I noticed about this brush is the handle. It's a fat grip handle, which I love because it won't cause cramping in my hands when using it.

I couldn't decided what the handle is made out of; it felt like plastic. But there were no plastic ridge markings. To settle my curiosity I bought a second foundation brush to break. That's right, I paid money just to break the product. To my surprise, the handle is made out of wood.

The bristle clamp has a very nice hold. After ten minutes of tugging the bristles, I came to the conclusion they weren't coming free. A+ for the grip.

Application Process:

This foundation brush is met for liquid or creme foundations. Personally, I say opt for a liquid over creme foundation when using the brush, but it is completely up to you.

The shape, cut, and bristles work perfectly with liquid foundation and has no problem grasping the product. Sometimes it can grab too much so make sure you remove some product from the brush by scrapping the brush on a container.

For best application - dab small amounts of foundation all over your face and neck. Brush evenly over your skin and blend well. I recommend patting the foundation under and around your eyes with the brush rather than pulling the brush down, side-ways, up, etc. This will put little pressure as possible on your eyes.

All-in-all, this is a very nice brush for the price. I paid $1 for this brush and it has lasted me a year so far. I love it and do recommend you get one.
