Makeup Expenses

My Make Up Budget and Totals for My Lifetime

Most women's everyday routine begins with putting on their makeup after they are showered and dressed. It has become a day to day task, just like brushing your teeth!

Dermatologists and researchers have recommended that women replace her make up every 6 months to prevent possible invention while applying. There for a woman is to purchase all new make up twice a year. Abiding by those rules, I will give you an average budget of what I would spend on make up in a year, about how much a I've spent on make up in the past, and about how much I will spend in future years.

I will admit, when it comes to make up I am a cheap. I like to shop at the discount stores for makeup. Wal-Mart and Dollar General are my main suppliers of makeup. I know what most of you are thinking, how can she buy makeup at discount stores and not break out with a rash? Bargain shopping will be the best idea you've had if you only allow yourself to do it, especially in today's economy. You can find the same brands in discount stores all you have to do is look.

Make up I use on a day to day basis.

Liquid foundation - Cover Girl @ the Dollar General for about $6.00

Powder foundation-Cover Girl @ the Dollar General for about $4.00

Eye liner- I'm not to particular what brand, many kinds @ the Dollar General ranging from $1.00 to $3.00

Eye shadow- Again, I'm not particular with what brand, @ Dollar General ranging from $2.00 to $5.00

Lip gloss- I usually get Cover Girl @ the Dollar General for about $3.00

Total- On average I spend $21 Dollars on makeup.

Total Twice a year- $42.00

I have been wearing makeup since I was 13 years old. If calculating since then, going by me buying make up twice a year @ $42.00, me being 23 now. In the last 10 years average total spent on makeup- $420.00.

I think this is a very, very good amount over ten years! Now let's say I will wear makeup providing I live till this age, of 80. My total cost for a life time of makeup expenses would be $2,814.00.

Rounding to- $5,000 providing that price changes will apply in the years to come. I think I can justify buying make up twice a year for myself if I keep on this budget, wouldn't you say? Now, if you find my math is wrong, I apologize!
