Makeup Product Review: CoverGirl's Classic Color Blush

S
Wasting your money on makeup that turns out to be a flop is frustrating and discouraging, but you can avoid buying products that are worthless. As the makeup guru I am, I have made it my personal goal to help you get an idea of makeup products before you buy them.

Right now we are going to take a look at CoverGirl's Classic Color Blush. During this review we will look at packaging, texture, color, and application life.

NOTE: I have personally tested all makeup products I have reviewed.

Packaging: ***** (5 stars of 5)

Classic Color is very compact. The product comes complete in small, thin, black rectangle. On the front you will find a release button; when you push it the top opens and there is a personal mirror, product on the left, and a brush on the right. This case can easily fit into a back pocket or purse of any size.

Texture: ***** (5 stars of 5)

CoverGirl's Classic Color has a very smooth texture when applied to skin. You are like me and touch the product with your finger to feel the texture, you will notice it is rather rough feeling to your finger but it actually goes on smoothly and it doesn't feel rough. I was impressed that this blush did not bunch up around dry areas or amplify acne. If you have used pressed-powder blush before, you will know that some leave a powder-like look to the areas applied - but Classic Color does not.

Color: **** (4 stars of 5)

The only reason color got 4 stars is because it is very shimmery. Classic Color's blushes all have nice coloring to them, but it stands out a little too much on your face when you have areas that are really shimmery and other areas that have nothing at all. The pigments are light which is very nice for a blush. You get coverage without a coat.

Application Life: **** (4 stars of 5)

I was rather impressed with the application life. This blush stayed on strong up to the three hour mark (which is long for a pressed-powder blush). But, just to let you know, I also had a foundation on which worked as a base for the blush. Most pressed-powder blushes last a minimum of 2 - 5 hours, so this blush held up in between.

All-in-all, if you would like a shimmery blushed look with light pigment - this blush may be for you. This product received an overall rating of 4.5 stars (read on to find out why this product was given this rating): the bad - a lot of shimmer and application life could be stronger; the good - very compact, great color, and no powder residue.

Price: $4.99-11.00
