Right now we are going to take a look at L'Oreal's True Match Powder Foundation. During this review we will go over packaging, Texture, Application Life, and coverage.
NOTE: I have personally used all the makeup products I review.
Packaging: ***** (5 stars of 5)
Very compact circle container that could even fit in a pair of jeans' back pocket. Flip open the top lid to gain access to the powder and flip open the bottom portion of the case to gain access to a personal mirror and a place to keep a circle sponge applicator. This is compact/press powder, not loose powder, and L'Oreal fills the container to the brim with product. Very nice.
Texture: **** (4 stars of 5)
Applies to skin with ease, but leaves small powder residue on the face (but this won't happen if you moisturize before use). If you apply several coats of this foundation, you will get a caked on look, so it is suggested that you only use a single, maybe double, coat. True Match does not build up in crevices or wrinkles, so if you are older - you do not have to worry about this. I found True Match to be light weight and you can hardly feel it on your face.
Application Life: *** (3 stars of 5)
This is not the longest lasting powder foundation I have used, but it did do a good job. I would not recommend this foundation to you if you are constantly moving because it sweats off easily. True Match foundation does not stay put when wet and can leave streaky marks, so if you are going to a water park or will be out in the rain - avoid using this foundation. Overall application life seemed to last about 5 hours.
Coverage: **** (4 stars of 5)
True Match does a good job covering problem areas, freckles, and some blemishes. It tends to cake up on some forms of acne if you put to many coats on, but does okay evening out skin tone.
All-in-all, if you need a powder foundation to even out your skin tone and will apply quickly - this product would be a good solution. This foundation has received an overall rating of 4 stars (read on to find out why this product got the rating it did): the bad - does not hold up to wetness, cakes if you apply more than 2 coats, and leaves a powder-like residue if you don't moisturize before use; the good - good coverage, fast application, and average application life.
Price: $10.95

Post a CommentI like this product but the lid of every bottle I have purchased doesn't fit exactly. So my purse becomes a mess and lots of the foundation is wasted. I'm pretty sure this is deliberate so that Loreal can make more money. Scammers.
