Makeup Product Review: Physicians Formula's Concealer Twins (Yellow/Cream for Bluish Tints)

S
If you love makeup and don't like spending your money on to find the makeup you got is less than perfect, you are in the right place. I am a complete makeup guru and have very picky opinions about makeup. It is my goal to inform you the best I can so you don't spend much needed money on a disappointment.

Right now we will take a look at Physicians Formulas' Concealer Twins (yellow/cream). During this review we are going to go over packaging, texture, coverage, and application life.

NOTE: I have personally tested all makeup products I review.

Packaging: **** (4 stars of 5)

Concealer Twins comes in a long, skinny, clear-plastic tubing. On one side you can unscrew the yellow concealer (to cover bluish tints), and on the other side you can unscrew the cream concealer (to cover the yellow concealer). Each side of concealer has a long wand with a felt-like tip. I don't like the tip to the concealer wand because it picks up too much concealer and you end up with more on your problem areas than you would need. But this is easily solved by dabbing some concealer on your ring finger and applying it to the problem area.

Texture: ** (2 stars of 5)

This is a liquid concealer and I like the feel of it because isn't too runny or too thick, but I got a surprise later on. I soon saw the crease in my eye lid filling with concealer product. This concealer seems to find every little wrinkle and crevice and you have to continually wipe your eye throughout the day to get rid of the residue in the creases. Also, this concealer tends to hug dry skin areas and it amplifies those areas, so if you have dry skin - stay away from this product.

Coverage: ***** (5 stars of 5)

I will admit I was very impressed with the coverage of this concealer. First apply the yellow to a bluish tinted area (I really put this concealer to the test by trying to cover a bruise, and it did!). Then you use the cream to cover the yellow. You don't need a lot of the concealer for coverage, so take it easy.

Application Life: *** (3 stars of 5)

Application life would have received a higher rating if it weren't for the texture problem and the product sinking into wrinkles and crevices. This concealer lasted a total of 4 hours before I started to see any sign of discoloration showing through. But, once again, there's the problem with the product searching out dry skin and crevices.

All-in-all, not a bad concealer for someone who needs a cheap and quick solution for bluish areas. This product received an overall rating of 3.5 stars (read on to find out why this product was given this rating): the bad - sinks into uneven skin areas, amplifies dry skin areas and felt tip not the best; the good - impressive coverage, nice application life and very compact.
