Don't you hate reaching for a product only to find you've run out or it it's crumbling or broken? When this happens, hiding indoors isn't the best answer. Believe it or not, some of those go-to products you don't really need after all. Find a handy substitute in your current makeup drawer and you'll get caught with a naked face again. Despite what cosmetic retailers say, it is not necessary to buy makeup every week or month.
The eyeliner has run dry! Women with small eyes depend on good liner to open the eye are and make the eyes stand out. What happens when you've used the last of the product or the liquid liner dries up? Go for the eyeshadow! Find a dark eyeshadow, preferably one that matches your look. Dampen the tip of a sponge applicator and brush across the eyeshadow. Wetting the tip makes the color bolder, darker. Apply the wet shadow to the upper lashes and below the lashes to get a smudged, eyeshadow look. This method is great for women who have eyeliner allergies.
Lip gloss no more? Lip gloss is truly a makeup product that you don't really need. In the pre-Civil war south, ladies wore a smattering of chicken grease on their lips for a glistening affect. That's not recommended, but a touch of petroleum jelly won't hurt you. Tap your lips lightly after you've applied lipstick. You might have to reapply the jelly after eating or drinking but typically, it stays fairly well.
My blusher is broken. This makeup issue occurs regularly especially if blush is carried in a makeup bag. Even a slight squeeze can crack a powder making it crumble and break. If this happens to you, touch the cheeks with a dab of pink or red lipstick. Don't go to heavy, less is more and a little does go a long, long way. Touch the cheeks lightly, do press or you could break your lipstick too.
I need a bright eyeshadow. You don't need an expensive eyeshadow for instant eye color. Again, reach for a subtle pink or copper lipstick. Swipe the lip color across your fingertip then dab it in place. Instant eye lifting color!
