Let's get started!
Packaging:
There really is not much to talk about in this area. E.L.F.'s Clarifying Pressed Powder comes in a very simple casing and is very compact. The casing is basic circular, white plastic with a clear lid reading "E.L.F.'s" logo.
This product does not come with a personal mirror or applicator tip for application. It would be really nice to have these items on hand when you are using this product on the go, but you don't and have to make do with what you do have. There is also no place to put an applicator, so if you were hoping to get one separate and just place it in the casing - that's not going to happen.
Coloring:
Makeup coloring is very important, especially when it goes mainly on your entire face. E.L.F. did add to their color collection for this one line of product and now there are eight colors. The colors range wide enough to cover anywhere from a light to dark. I would not say that this product is really made for people with fair skin because a lot of these colors are too dark and would look very bad. It all really just depends on how fair you are.
Coverage:
This seems to always be the main topic when it comes to makeup. How well does it cover? I'll start off by saying this is not for coverage! If you are looking for coverage in a makeup, you may want to turn around and look for a different makeup.
E.L.F.'s Clarifying Pressed Powder is to be used for that matte finish. If you apply a liquid foundation or any other makeup and would like a matte finish, you would use this. Now this is not a translucent powder, so please do not think of it as one.
If you would like to use this powder as a skin tone corrector, it will work as long as there is not too much to correct, such as blemishes and very red skin. If you have a little redness to your face or if you want that "awake" look, this makeup will help you achieve it.
Texture:
Here comes the bad part of the makeup. The texture is a bit on the rough side, but not extremely rough. This powder will cake up if you try to layer it, so I do not advise that you do so. This powder will also hunt out dry skin, wrinkles, and any little creases.
If you would like to avoid getting the cake up syndrome or creasing, I would advise you use a facial primer before application. Now you can only use the facial primer if you are using the Clarifying Pressed Powder on its own.
Application Life:
And here we go with the final test. I was not happy with the application life at all. I got approx. two hours of full wear. I was experiencing creasing after half an hour. There is not much you can do in this area to help prevent the creasing other than the facial primer.
All-in-all, this is not a very good makeup to spend your money on. You can find this product on eyeslipsface.com for $1.00. I hope this helps you out and good luck.
