Makeup Review: E.L.F.'s Eye Transformer

Ordering makeup online is risky. You don't know how the product feels on your skin, if you like the quality, and so much more. There are questions that you want answered before you throw money into a product.

I am here to answer your questions about makeup products before you purchase. I have personally purchased and tested each product I review to optimize your overall opinion.

Right now we are going to take a look at e.l.f.'s eye transformer. During this review we are going to talk about the products form, color, texture, and application life.

Packaging:

If you have purchased e.l.f.'s corrective concealer then you know what the casing looks like for this product. Both the corrective concealer and eye transformer come in the same casing.

Each color is separated into a color pan. There is a small personal mirror included with the product on the casing lid. There is also a small applicator included (in brush form - not sponge).

Coloring:

Now there is not really a specific coloring for this product because it is suppose to transform eyeshadow colors into different tones. You can apply this product alone or wear under an eyeshadow to transform the color. It is completely up to you. There are no rules when it comes to makeup.

The colors in this quad are very pale. You can call them baby tones. There is a light green, light pink, light orange, and light blue. Each has their own purpose.

It is recommend you place these colors under your eyeshadow as a base. You use the light colors to turn darker shadows into lighter, shimmering, colors.

Texture:

There always seems to be a downfall when it comes to this transformer and corrective e.l.f. products. Much like its similar cousin the "corrective concealer", eye transformer has a very fake, plastic feel to it.

You can get rid of this feel by stirring the product up with a stirring stick. Use your ring finer to blend the product together and warm it.

Eye transformer does tend to cake and crease, so take it easy and keep an eye on the product. You can prevent caking by applying little product and you can help prevent the creasing by applying an eyeshadow powder (not liquid) over top the transformer.

Application life:

This product didn't last very long. I got approx. three hours of full wear. It didn't take long before it began to crease. It got really annoying to deal with after awhile.

All-in-all, good concept, but I think I will pass next time. It cakes and creases too much, and I'm not patient enough to deal with it.
