Makeup Review: E.L.F.'s Liquid Eyeliner

Ordering makeup online is risky. You don't know how the product feels on your skin, if you like the quality, and so much more. There are questions that you want answered before you throw money into a product.

I am here to answer your questions about makeup products before you purchase. I have personally purchased and tested each product I review to optimize your overall opinion.

Right now we are going to take a look at e.l.f.'s Liquid Eyeliner. During this review we are going to talk about the products form, color, texture, and application life.

Packaging:

Like most other liquid eyeliners, e.l.f.'s eyeliner comes in an oddly shaped form. The handle screws onto a bottle which holds the product. This casing is made from a sturdy plastic.

This product comes complete with an applicator. On the end of the handle (which you unscrew from the product container), is an eyeliner brush. I found the brush to be pretty thick and it made the eyeliner line very thick. It takes practice but you can get the line to a thin line by barely touching the brush to your eyelid.

Coloring:
E.l.f. currently has a couple colors available for this eyeliner. There's total of nine eyeliners. Five of the liners are matte colored and the other four are shimmers. Matte colors include: Coffee, black, midnight, ash, and plum. The shimmer colors include: silver, stardust, copper, and pearl.

Each color is very vibrant. When you see the color previews on the website, look at the bottle photo, at the color, and you will see what the product looks like in person. A lot of products do not look the same on the web as they do in person, but these photos are true to color.

Texture:

I was surprised with the texture. Each eyeliner is smooth but not runny. The smooth texture does appose an issue with application because it is easy to get the product everywhere. If you are applying and accidentally blink or move in the slightest, the product will smear. E.l.f.'s liquid liner dries rather quickly so try to apply in one movement.

Something you should be aware of is the smell. This eyeliner smells like 100% chemical. You get used to it after awhile, but some people cannot handle the smell. It doesn't stick with you once the product dries.

Application life:

The liner lasted approx. 3 ½ hours before it wore off. I liked the fact it doesn't flake off and get everywhere; it fades. You can make this product last a little longer with an eyelid primer because the primer will help keep natural skin oils from interacting with the liner and causing it to wear off faster.

All-in-all, it is an okay liner. Although it is diffidently not the best, you can use it to practice with. This product doesn't cost a lot so it is not much of a loss if you don't like it. Personally, I will not be purchasing this liner again.
