Makeup Review: E.L.F.'s Liquid Eyeshadow

Ordering makeup online is risky. You don't know how the product feels on your skin, if you like the quality, and so much more. There are questions that you want answered before you throw money into a product.

I am here to answer your questions about makeup products before you purchase. I have personally purchased and tested each product I review to optimize your overall opinion.

Right now we are going to take a look at e.l.f.'s liquid eyeshadow. During this review we are going to talk about the products form, color, texture, and application life.

Packaging:

If you have ever purchased the eyelid primer from e.l.f. then you should have a very good idea of what this casing is like. Very cheap feeling plastic. The liquid eyeshadow and primer casing is identical to each other, just have different products within.

This product comes in a plastic cylinder much like mascara. It has a black screw on/off top. At the end of the wand is a felt applicator.

Coloring:

I love getting to the colors when it comes to eye shadows. I'm always eager to see what is available.

E.l.f. currently has eight colors available to purchase for this product. Each color is shimmery (there are no matte colors). If you are not into shimmer, you may want to skip this shadow because it is loaded.

The current colors include: sultry satin, misty mauve, cream dream, coco loco, berrylicious, green machine, sexy silver, and mocha madness. There are two pinks, two browns, a green, a cream, and white.

Texture:

I will warn you that this is a very messy shadow! It isn't runny, but it is not a cream (so keep that in your mind). A lot of people say this product is very hard to apply, and it is. If you are looking for a good blending shadow, this is not it. This shadow is more a solo player (not good with other colors).

I would really recommend applying this shadow with your finger. It doesn't like the applicator it came with or any other shadow brush. Your ring finger will work fine. Apply small amount of the product to the lid by dabbing the applicator to your lid and then use your finger to blend.

These shadows do crease and they do flake off so be careful with that too.

Application life:

E.l.f.'s liquid eyeshadow wears off fast. I got approx. one hour of full application before it needed touched up. One thing I really did not like about this product was the fact it flaked off. The flakes can stain the skin, so be careful if you aren't somewhere you can wash off the flakes. All-in-all, I am not buying this product again. It has very nice colors, but it really isn't worth the hassle. You can find nice colors in other products.
