Makeup Review: E.L.F.'s Mineral Eye Shadow

TommiH
Hey everyone! Today we are going to talk about another makeup product. This product comes straight from the E.L.F. Mineral line. Today we will be looking at the E.L.F. mineral eye shadow. During this review we are going to take a look at color, texture, packaging, and application life.

Let's get started!

Color:
I wanted to start off with the coloring because I love it! I wasn't expecting much from the product because each eye shadow is only $3 (very cheap for a mineral eye shadow). But it all comes back to "don't judge a book my its cover".

The color pigments are brilliant. Each color is very vibrant and pigmented. There is some shimmer to the shadows, but not an overdose so don't worry about that unless you are going Matte straight.

Texture:

These mineral eye shadows are loose powder, not pressed like most powdered eye shadows. If you don't know what a loose powder is vs. a pressed powder - loose powder is where the powder is free flowing within the container as to where pressed powder is pressed together in one solid block.

The powder is very smooth and silky to the touch, which I love since it is going on the eye. Since the eye is so delicate, it is nice to apply only smooth and soft makeup products or you can get early wrinkling and sagging in the eye area.

Packaging:
The product comes in a .03 oz clear plastic container. A lot of people are wary about the product size, but I will tell you there is nothing to worry about - there is a lot of product within the container. You don't need a lot on your brush because a little goes a long way. Make sure to use the sifter within the container because it will help you get the right amount of product on your brush.

Application Life:
I was impressed with the application life. I got approx. 6 hours of full wear from this shadow, which is rather good for the price and the fact it's a loose powder. A lot of loose powder shadows wear off quickly (about 4 hours of life before they are gone). The product is very messy when you first apply it, so make sure you tap off the extra product. But it does not fall off your lid after application and get everywhere (even when it is wearing away as the day goes on).

All-in-all, it's a great mineral shadow for $3. You can find this product at www.eyeslipsface.com under their mineral link located on the home bar.
