I am here to answer your questions about makeup products before you purchase. I have personally purchased and tested each product I review to optimize your overall opinion.
Right now we are going to take a peek at e.l.f.'s Mineral Face Primer. I personally love primers and e.l.f. just came out with this primer so, of course, I had to try it out.. During this review we are going to take a look at the container, color, texture, and application life.
Let's get started!
Container:
Mineral Face Primer comes in a glass, pump bottle. Believe it or not, there is not a sizing label on e.l.f.'s site or on the product. It is pretty good sized, but I do not know the exact size. My only complain about the container would be the fact that you cannot get the entire product out of the container. When the product gets low, the pump cannot reach the bottom to pull more. There is no easy way to remove the lid and simply get more product when it is low.
Color:
There is no set color for this primer; it is clear. There is no shimmer, pigment, etc. I love the fact that this product is clear because it is a primer and you don't want it to stand out over the rest of your makeup. I have tried a couple primers that are tinted until you smooth them over your skin and they become "translucent". Those primers always leave a tint. I would suggest getting a clear primer like this one.
Texture:
This primer has a very, very smooth texture. It is not an oily feel like some primers give off. Another plus to this product - it is light weight. You don't feel like there are layers upon layers of makeup caked onto your skin.
Apply the primer before foundation to get a smooth satin feel. It doesn't take much; a little goes a very long way. I would suggest applying a little product to a cotton ball then applying it to your face.
The final result was pleasing. My face had a very smooth, non-cakey, powder look. I usually get a "dusty" look when using a powder foundation, but this primer takes it away.
Application life:
I was very pleased with the application life. To truly test out the life, I used the same looser mineral foundation. Once, I applied the foundation with out primer and got approx. five hours of full wear before touch-ups were needed. I then applied the foundation over primer and got approx. nine hours of full wear; that is a four hour difference! For the price - it is worth it.
You can try out this primer for yourself for only $6 at www.eyeslipsface.com
