Let's get started!
Packaging:
I'm going to start off with packaging because there is not much to tell in this area and figured we'd get it out of the way. This blush comes in a simple white-plastic casing with a clear plastic lid. There is no personal mirror for application or an applicator provided. If you are hoping to keep an applicator within the casing, you will not be able to because there is no provided spot for one within the casing.
Coloring:
Coloring is one of the most important factors in a blush. I was happy with E.L.F.'s color selection available. There are colors for skin tones ranging from fair to dark. The colors are Shy, Glow, Coy, Flushed, Bronzed, and Innocence.
This blush does have some shimmer to it, but not an overwhelming amount. But if you do not like shimmer in a blush, I would recommend not getting this blush and go with a matte.
Texture:
This is a pressed powder blush not a loose powder. In case you are unfamiliar with the differences between pressed powders and loose powders - let me explain a little better for you. Pressed powders come compacted together in a container while loose powder is free flowing.
The problem with a lot of pressed powder is they're dry. That is the exact problem with this E.L.F. blush. It has a very dry texture to it which causes problems with a powder like residue. If you would like to avoid this residue, I would suggest moisturizing well or using a facial primer before you apply the blush.
This blush does seek out dry skin patches so I would avoid using it when you are experiencing dry skin. It will also cake up. I didn't really have a problem with this blush creasing mainly because it is so dry.
Application Life:
If you plan to use this blush on a day of strenuous work, I would advise you to rethink. This blush will smear and run if it gets wet and that includes with sweat. On a day with normal activity, I got approx. three hours of full color and wear out of this blush. On day's that I ended up being outside for awhile or doing a little work around the yard, the makeup smeared and ran and lasted approx. an hour.
If you would like to make this blush last a little longer on those normal days of work, I would suggest using a facial primer. The primer will help grab the blush and hold it in. After applying the blush to a primed face, I would also recommend using a damp sponge applicator and lightly brushing it over the blush to get rid of any residue that is not needed. Then I would suggest using a loose translucent powder over the top to help lock in the makeup.All-in-all, it's not a horrible blush but it's not the worst. You can find this blush at eyeslipsface.com for $1.
