Makeup Review: E.L.F.'s Studio Bronzer

For all you makeup guru's out there, you know the difficulty of choosing a makeup online. It's never certain if the product will be worth your hard earned money or not. If you're looking to purchase makeup

I have been a makeup guru all my life and have been testing and reviewing products for the last five years. Each review is broken down into easily understood categories. Today we're taking a look at E.L.F.'s Studio Bronzers.

Casing: (4 stars out of 5)

There is not much to say about the packaging of this product. It is very simple. This bronzer comes in a solid black, plastic case. The inside features a personal mirror and the bronzer itself. Casing for this product does clip shut so it does not come open in your makeup bag or purse.

There are four different colors in each bronzer palette, but all the colors are touching (they are not separated from each other). Studio Bronzers do not come with an applicator and there is no place to put an applicator in the case.

Color: (3 stars out of 5)

I am going to start off by saying there is way too much shimmer in these bronzers. I have never seen this much shimmer in one bronzer palette. If you apply this bronzer all over, you will literally look like a tan Edward Cullen in the sun. Not joking.

The actual coloring of these bronzers is okay, but it is not all that natural looking. If you are going to use this as bronzer, use it in very small amounts. Colors available are - Warm Bronzer, Cool Bronzer, and Golden Bronzer. I have used all of these bronzers and the most "natural" appearing bronzer was the Warm Bronzer.

I gave up on using this bronzer as a bronzer. I actually use the palette as an eyeshadow quad whenever I need a shimmer color. These colors do make nice eyeshadows.

Texture: (4.5 stars out of 5)

I do like the texture of this product. It is one of the very few upsides. Studio Bronzer does have a very smooth texture to it. With any makeup (especially makeup that is going to be applied to the facial area) it has to be soft and manageable. Too much tugging and pulling on skin will cause premature wrinkling.

I never really had a problem with the "caking" look while using this product. I have heard some people say this is a poor bronzer because it cakes when they use it. My question is - how much are you applying? It only takes a little bronzer to add color.

Application life: (4 stars out of 5)

Surprisingly, this bronzer lasts pretty long. I got approx. 7 hours of full wear before any type of touch up was needed. I still was not too happy because it is not the best coloring to begin with. The one product I don't want to last stays put the longest. Figures.

All-in-all, this product received an average rating of 3.9 stars. It is far from the best bronzer out there, but it will do the trick if you need a quick fix and you are on a small budget.
