For all you makeup guru's out there, you know the difficulty of choosing a makeup online. It's never certain if the product will be worth your hard earned money or not. If you're looking to purchase makeup you want the best for you without wasting your cash.

I have been a makeup guru all my life and have been testing and reviewing products for the last five years. Each review is broken down into easily understood categories. Today we're taking a look at E.L.F.'s Studio Line Cream Eyeliner.

Casing: (4 stars out of 5)

E.L.F.'s cream eyeliner comes in a thick clear jar with a palette cup sitting in the middle. The capping is a screw on/off solid black lid. There really is not much to this section.

An angled brush applicator does come with this product. It was a very nice plus. I'm not sure I am highly pleased with the applicator because it's a little on the rough side. The brush does need to be stiff in order to apply, but it does not need to be rough.

All-in-all, you do get a nice amount of product for what you pay. A little eyeliner will go a long way. In all reality, this liner could last you a couple months with day-to-day use.

Colors: (5 stars out of 5)

When it comes to liner, color is one of the most important factors. Let's face it - everyone has a different shade of eye color and not all liners are flattering on every eye color. I was very happy to see E.L.F. has come out with four new colors.

The colors currently available in the cream eyeliner are - Coffee, Black, Midnight, Ivory, Metallic Olive, Copper, Gunmetal, and Purple. These are matte colors and have very nice pigmentation to them. Since this is a cream liner, the colors will always come out with rich tones. I was very pleased.

Texture: (4 stars out of 5)

Like its name, this is cream eyeliner. Generally I am not too fond of cream liners because they can be difficult to work with if you are not very familiar with the type. It may take you a couple times applying this liner before you become used to it, but, in the end, it will be worth it.

I did have problems with this eyeliner smearing, smudging, etc. There really is no way to avoid this. Be careful not to touch your liner or rub at your eyes while wearing the product. I would apply touch ups throughout the day to keep it put.

Application life: (3.5 stars out of 5)

When it comes down to the life of a product, few people are satisfied. You are always hoping a product will last longer than what it did. Then with some products, you just can't seem to get it back off.

I got approx. 4 hours of full wear from this eyeliner. I did experience smudging and creasing. There were many times throughout the day that I had to touch up and re-apply. This could happen to you if you tend to get oily areas on your lids. You can try to apply an eyelid primer before applying the liner. It may or may not help.

In the end, it is an okay product. If you are looking for a liner to help spice up your look - I would encourage you to give this product a shot. For the price, you don't have much to lose. This product received an average rating of 4.1 stars out of 5.
