I am here to answer your questions about makeup products before you purchase. I have personally purchased and tested each product I review to optimize your overall opinion.
E.l.f. is an online makeup producer. It is e.l.f.'s goal to create quality products for less money than leading competitors. Many of the products found at e.l.f. are either $1 or $3.
Right now we are going to take a look at one of e.l.f.'s studio line products; the eyebrow kit.
Packing: The Eyebrow kit comes in a compact, black, hard plastic casing. This product does include a small applicator brush and personal mirror inside the casing. The casing comes complete with a snap-lock so it doesn't become open by accident.
Now about the applicator. The applicator is two sided; one side has more of a fluffy brush and the other side has a small, stiff, angled brush. The angled side is best used with powder and the fluffy side can be used for the gel.
Coloring:
There are two palettes in this kit; one side is pressed powder and the other is a colored gel for styling. The pressed powder is very pigmented so make sure to use with a light hand. The gel can make your eyebrows appear greasy if too much is applied. Make sure to use both with a light touch.
The colors provided on e.l.f.'s site are very true to the colors delivered. While the powder appears light, even in person, the color is darker when actually applied to your brows. Once removed from the pressed position and onto an applicator or skin, the powder is as dark as the partnering gel.
There are three colors available for purchase right now: light, medium, and dark.
Application life: There are two different life spans to be looked at here. One is with the gel applied after the powder and the other is without the gel.
With the gel - application life is approx. 7 hours of full wear. Color continues to stay vibrant throughout the day.
Without the gel - application life is approx. 4 hours of full wear. Applying the gel after powder will give you longer wear and hold your brows in place.
In all, this is a good kit to have on hand if you have sparse brows and would like them to appear thicker and more lively. You can use this product even if you brows aren't thin, but it could make them appear very bold and fake. Be careful.
