Makeup Review: E.L.F.'s Studio Line Shimmer Palette

TommiH
Hey there everyone! I'm back with another product from E.L.F. This product comes from E.L.F.'s studio line and it is called the Shimmer Palette. During this review we are going to take a look at the packaging, color, application life, and texture.

Let's get started!

Packaging:
This product comes in a very simple black-plastic casing with a little latch to hold the casing shut. It also comes with a small sponge applicator tip. There is no personal mirror available which is a downside, but you can live without it. This is a quad palette which means there are four different color palettes available in this product.

The casing is very compact and easy to use on the go. It would be really nice to have a personal mirror built in so application while on the go. The applicator is not the best and I would suggest getting a new one for better results.

Color:

There are four colors available in the palette: white, peach, dark pink and light pink. The colors are okay but not very pigmented. If you plan to use these palettes as eyeshadows, you are not going to get much color out of them. However, the dark pink is true to color. There is not shimmer to this product.

I would honestly suggest using these colors as possible lip color and highlighters. They will look a lot better being used for those purposes vs. eyeshadow.

Texture:
I was not pleased in this area at all. This is a very oily product and creases easily. It can also cause you to break out. It is lightweight, and does not cake up, but it will hunt out your pores and cause you future problems if you do not unsure it is completely off your face when you go to bed.

Since this product tends to get oily, I would suggest using it as a possible lip gloss set. The colors are lovely and there is enough to make a pretty base color with some highlights. Since the colors are on the light side, this would work best for fair/light skinned individuals.

Application life:
Using this as a lip color - I got maybe two hours of full color. Using this as eyeshadow - I got maybe 40 minutes before it started to smudge and crease. Using this as a highlighter - I got about 90 minutes of color before it found creases and began to smudge. Not even primers help hold this product in place. This is why I would really suggest using it as a lip gloss quad.

All-in-all, if you like lip glosses and are looking for a pink based set, this will be for you. If you are looking for a highlighter or eyeshadow, keep looking because you will just waste your money here. You can find this product at eyeslipsface.com for $3.
