Makeup Review: E.L.F.'s Studio Pencil and Brush Concealer

TommiH
Hey everyone! Today we are going to talk about another makeup product. This product comes straight from the E.L.F. Studio line. Today we will be looking at the E.L.F. Concealer Pencil and Brush. During this review we are going to look at texture, color, application life, and coverage.

Let's get started!

Color:

E.L.F. has a total of three colors available on their site www.eyeslipsface.com : fair, light, and medium. I don't really like the selection available because there is no concealer for darker skin, which is a down side. I will tell you that the fair is truly for extremely fair skin. In my opinion the light concealer is more for fair skin and the medium is more for light skin. There are only three solid base colors and none in between, so it's very hard to tell which is best for you.

Texture:
The actual concealer comes in pencil form then you use the brush to even out the application. I would say the pencil is rather smooth compared to other pencils I have used, but it's not the smoothest I have use. It glides on fairly easy and the brush does help smooth it out. But I would recommend apply the product with the pencil, brushing it out with the brush a little, and then using your finger to dab it down.

Coverage:
Concealer Pencil and Brush does cover blemishes well, but it all depends on the blemish you are covering. If you are trying to cover freckles, it will lighten them up and cover small groups without making your look fake. If you are trying to cover the occasional zit, it will work as well. I don't recommend using this product on large blemish areas because it will cake up and look bad. Avoid using a lot of this concealer all at once.

Application life:

The application life was ok, but it could have been better. I got approx. 4 hours of full coverage from this concealer. You defiantly want longer application life when it comes to a concealer because you are using it to cover what you don't want to be seen. I would recommend using a translucent powered of some sort to help set in the product, protect it, and help it last longer. Also, if you will be wearing a foundation powder over top of the concealer, it will help hold the concealer in place longer. Liquid concealer don't work all that well when it comes to holding the product down because it tends to get oily and wear off.

All-in-all, it's a good product for the $3 that it cost. You can find this concealer at www.eyeslipsface.com.
