Makeup Review: Estee Lauder's Aero Matte:Ultralucent Pressed Powder

TommiH
Hey there everyone! I have a new product that I wanted to talk about with you. Today we are going to take a look at Estee Lauder's AeroMatte: Ultralucent Pressed Powder. During this review we are going to take a look at the packaging, coloring, coverage, texture, and application life.

Let's get started!

Packaging:

We are going to go ahead and start of the packaging or casing. This product comes in a very compact, heavy duty, casing. This is not your average plastic casing and lasts much longer if dropped or stepped on. I would not suggest stepping on the product or dropping it, but I was just saying the odds are it will survive better than a plastic container would!

As for the product, there isn't a ton of product available but you don't need a lot. A little goes a long way with this product. There is no applicator and I would recommend getting a powder brush to apply this product. There is also no place for an applicator. This product casing does come with a built in mirror for application and touch up purposes, which was very nice.

Coloring:
There are five colors available for this product, ranging from fair to medium: light, transparent, light medium warm, light medium cool, and medium warm. I like the fact there are different tones to choose from (such as cool and warm) but I wish there would be a little more range in color (as in fair to dark).

As for the actual coloring, everything is very natural looking. Transparent has more of a pinkish tone to it, so if you are light but do not have a pink tone to your skin, you may want to watch out for that because it will add a little pink. The pictures available for viewing are very close to what you get when the product arrives.

Coverage:

This is not a foundation nor will it cover like one. This is more of a "pick-me-up" for when you didn't catch a lot of shut eye or you are just looking for a healthy glowing appearance. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking this will cover blemishes and other "imperfection" they may have, but it won't. It will simply make you look more lively and awake.

Texture:
This is a pressed powder and not the smoothest powder I have ever felt, but it's okay to the touch. I had a problem with a "powder residue" on my face after application. This will seek out dry skin patches, so be wary of that. You can avoid this product attaching to dry skin and leaving a residue by applying a moisturizer to your skin before application. Allow the moisturizer to set in before applying the makeup to your skin.

Application life:

Last, but not least, how long does this product last? I got maybe 6 to 7 hours of life from this product. It does wear away easily, so avoid touching your face at all cost. If you have healthy looking skin to begin with and you just need something to get you through your morning-self, this will do the trick. It will give you an "awake" look, even when you're not, and it will slowly wear away throughout the day - leaving you with your original healthy skin.

All-in-all, this is not the best product I have ever used, but it was okay. You can certainly find a product of equal or greater quality for a lot less. You can purchase this product at esteeladuer.com for $26.00.
