Makeup Review: Estee Lauder's Nutritious: Vita-Mineral Loose Powder Makeup with SPF 15

Hey there everyone! I have a new product that I wanted to talk about with you. Today we are going to take a look at Estee Lauder's Nutritious: Vita-Mineral Loose Powder Makeup with SPF 15. During this review we will take a look at the packaging, color, texture, coverage, and application life.

Let's get started!

Packaging:
Nutritious comes in a rather large, clear plastic container with a gold lid. An applicator does come with the product, but I found it to be a poor applicator for the type of makeup this is. The applicator is the same as the other applicators for Estee Lauder color powder products (i.e. blush and bronzer).

The applicator is in a skinny, 2D, circular form with tightly knit, rough bristles. This applicator flung product and dropped it everywhere. This is a loose powder makeup and is messy to begin with, but the applicator made it worse. I would suggest using a kabuki brush for this makeup.

As for the actual product, there is plenty to go around. It only takes a little, so Nutritious lasts a long time if you use it carefully (without accidentally spilling it) and not generously. There is a sifter within the product casing; use it. You only need a small amount of product out of the sifter, swirl a kabuki around in the product, and apply to your skin.

Texture:
This is a loose powder product and very soft to the touch. The product is very fine which helps you be able to blend the product. There was some "powder-like residue" leftover, after application, but it wasn't hard to get rid of. If you get the same problem with "powder-like residue" please read the following to get rid of that affect.

To get rid of the "powder-like residue", simply get a clean, sponge applicator and wet it down. Squeeze out excess water so your sponge is only barely damp. Gently sweep the sponge applicator over your face where the product was applied. Doing this will pickup any un-needed powder from your skin and leave you with a more natural appearance.

Coloring:
For once, I was very impressed with the color selection available from Estee Lauder. Nutritious has a total of six colors available, ranging from fair to dark. The colors go by "intensity", so you would have: Intensity 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, and 6.0 (1.0 being the lightest and 6.0 being the darkest).

All the colors are very natural looking and, if you get the proper color, there will be no signs of a fake-makeup look. I also was pleased with the darker colors. Generally darker powder makeup is discolored and a bit on the orangish side, but that was not the case here. The color pictures are true to color.

Coverage:
This is not a foundation, so please do not make the mistake of thinking it is. This is more of a "booster". If you are looking for a product to help lift your face up out of the glum "I just woke up" look, I would highly recommend this product. If you are looking to cover scars, acne, or other blemishes, I would not recommend getting this product.

Application Life:

Nutritious gave me approx. 8 hours of full wear before it began to fade. This product does not smear or crease, but it can rub off. If you have too much product on your face, the odds are, it will rub off unto clothing or other items. Make sure you do not put on too much product. Just because you layer it on, does not mean it will look better or last longer.

All-in-all, I really enjoyed this product and would purchase it again. You can find it on esteelauder.com for $33.50.
