Color:
Well, let's start with color. I have a brown, black, and very black. I would have to say that very black is my favorite because of its rich color and vibrant appeal. Now I would not recommend very black unless you have medium brunette to black hair because it will come out looking very fake. If you have dirty blonde to medium brunette, I would recommend black. If you have bleached blonde to dirty blonde, I would go with the brown. It just makes everything look all the more natural. All the colors are very vibrant and natural looking, and all get a thumb up from me.
Texture:
Texture is most important when it comes to mascara. If you get mascara that is dry, it is going to clump up extremely easy and if you get mascara that is too moist, it is going to run. Always try to find a happy middle. I really do love the texture of Great Lash Mascara because it is indeed the happy middle. The brush is on the short side which bothers me, but the actual product within is great. I never had any problems with this mascara clumping during application or even after.
Application life:
I will start off by saying I am impressed with Great Lash's application life. It stayed on nearly ten hours without flaking off. The coloring did fade away some, but it did not smear or flake. I would suggest using an eyelash curler during application. If you get your eyelashes gathered in the curler, hold them there, and apply a coat of mascara over them while they are still pinned - you will get a better coating and it helps prevent clumping.
Overall Results:
I would say this is a pretty good mascara. Is it the best? No. But it does get the trick done at a cheaper price. The coloring was good and the application life was pretty good as well. If you are on a low budget, I would defiantly get this mascara. I would suggest cleaning the wand under hot water after each usage and heat the mascara up in a bowl of hot water before use. Also, do not pump the wand up and down to coat it with mascara because you will dry the product out quicker; spin the wand within the bottle to coat it. Make sure to change out your mascara every two months and you are good to go!
