I am here to answer your questions about makeup products before you purchase. I have personally purchased and tested each product I review to optimize your overall opinion.
Right now we are going to take a look at L'Oreal's True Match Super-blend-able makeup. During this review we are going to take a peek at the colors, texture, coverage, and application life.
Color:
L'Oreal has several colors available for purchase in their True Match line. The colors range from very light to dark. Each color is very natural, making it easy to find a tone match.
There is no shimmer to this foundation, but it has more of a dewy-sheer finish rather than matte. I'm not quite sure where I stand on this topic. I don't always like matte finishes because it can make your face look too perfect thus making it look fake. But a dewy-sheer finish can cause an oily appearance to skin when in light. I guess it all depends on personal preference in this area.
If you don't want a dewy-sheer finish, but want this foundation - I would recommend getting a translucent powder and lightly dust if over your face.
Texture:
Let me start by saying I love this foundation! This is an oil-free based product yet it is extremely hydrating. After applying to skin, this foundation leaves a moisturized feeling. Even if you didn't moisturize before application, your skin will still get the benefit of being soft and smooth.
This foundation did not cake. I was very impressed to find that I could apply the foundation with a foundation brush and pat down with a cosmetic sponge in two layers and not look fake. If you would like to top off the results, you can dampen a cosmetic sponge and gently run it across your skin to remove any extra product.
Coverage:
Since this is meant to be a sheer, natural looking finish - this foundation does not offer a lot of coverage. It does provide the basics and eliminates redness.
Please do not expect this foundation to cover large blemishes, freckles, moles, acne, or anything above. It will not.
Application life:
I was impressed with the application life. Most sheer foundations wear off after a couple hours since they are so fine, but I got approx. five hours of full wear because I needed to retouch my application.
Retouching is not very difficult since this is a liquid foundation. You don't need to have a brush every time you apply, though it helps, because you can simply apply with your fingers. True Match feels a lot like a moisturizer and applies just about the same.
All-in-all, this is a very nice makeup to have on hand if you are not looking for full coverage. If you are looking for a full coverage foundation, there are many products out there specifically for your needs - please do not waste your money here.
