Makeup Review: Neutrogena's 3-in1 Concealer for Eyes

This is for all you makeup guru's out there looking for products to makeup your new looks with. Speaking from experience, it's no fun buying makeup, spending money, and finding out it is junk. But that is why I am here. To be the critic and save you money!

Today's subject is Neutrogena's 3-in-1 concealer for eyes. During this review we are going to discuss the color, texture, application life, and coverage.

Why is it called 3-in-1 concealer? 3-in-1 got its name because there are three key products in one single tubing. (1) is concealer, (2) is eye cream, and (3) is SPF 20. It was ingenious to add eye cream to the concealer because the skin around the human eye is very sensitive and prone to drying out. Keeping hydration in the formula will help keep the skin from drying out and getting "dry wrinkles."

Another plus with this concealer is the SPF 20. Being the delicate skin it is, the eye area needs to be protected on a daily basis from the sun and its harmful rays. Too much sun can lead to sun damage and sun damage leads to premature aging.

Coloring:

There are approx. 11 colors available for this concealer; ranging from light to dark. Each color is very natural, but for those of you who have "in-between" tones, I would recommend mixing two colors to form one tone to match your natural skin tone. If you try to cover up a blemish with colors that don't match your own, it will only cause the blemish to stand out more so. Be careful in that area.

Coverage: This concealer was put there test after test with me. I have a scar on my hand and a healing wound that has redness around the area. Guess what the concealer was tested on? You guessed right.

First test subject was the scar. This is a dimpled scar (dips down a little) and gets redness around the area sometimes. The scar was completely covered with one small dab of concealer.

Next up was the cut. Same results as the scar; covered.

After facing the harder tasks, I moved on to my face covering dark circles and redness. Beginning with my dark circles, the concealer yet again did the job. Now I will state that I do not have very bad dark circles, but between work and school - they do come. This concealer also tackled the little redness around my nose.

Under foundation, the concealer did fine. There was no caking when liquid concealer met loose powder foundation. If you use a powder foundation of any type, I do not recommended placing the concealer over foundation. You will get a cakey-fake appearance that way.

Make sure not to cake on concealer around your eyes, anywhere for that matter, but especially around your eyes. Your eyes are first to be noticed and a cakey look is never appealing. Also, caking concealer around your eyes will cause creasing. Simply apply little concealer to your ring finger and pat on. If you feel more coverage is needed, feel free to add a little more.

Great coverage.

Application life:

Here comes the big one. Sadly 3-in-1 didn't last to my expectations. I received approx. two hours of coverage before touch ups were needed. I allowed the life to slide since the coverage got an A. Touch ups are not hard.

All together, this is a very nice concealer. Very soothing on skin and gentle. Coverage is great along with the color. I do recommended getting this product if you have blemishes, scarring, redness, or anything above.

A quick tip for you - for best "flawless" skin while using this concealer, apply small portions of concealer to the blemished area, apply foundation of your choice, and lightly sweep a damp cosmetic sponge over your face for a photo finish. The damp sponge will grab any extra makeup.
