This is for all you makeup guru's out there looking for products to makeup your new looks with. Speaking from experience, it's no fun buying makeup, spending money, and finding out it is junk. But that is why I am here. To be the critic and save you money!

Right now we are going to take a look at N.Y.C.'s Smooth Skin Liquid Makeup. During this review we will address popular misconceptions, what this makeup is for, and the quality.

Misconceptions:

I wanted to began with this statement because there are so many misconceptions about Smooth Skin. What is this makeup for?

Smooth Skin states on the back "Flawless coverage." When people see this, they immediately think this makeup is to cover flaws; blemishes, acne, etc. Wrong.

This product is meant to even out skin tone to a certain extent. If you have acne or other blemishes you are looking to cover, please do not purchase Smooth Skin in the hopes that it will do the job. If there's a lot of redness to your skin, you may want to reconsider as well.

Unless you have skin that is already perfect, Smooth Skin will really do nothing for you. If your skin is without blemish, you can use this makeup to give a matte finish and absorb oils. But please do not expect coverage for anything more than a little redness. There are products out there specifically for those needs, and this is not one of them.

Coloring:

Compared to other makeup collections, N.Y.C.'s Smooth Skin is lacking in the color department. There are approx. five colors to choose from. The colors are natural, but I wish there were more to choose from for those "in-between" tones.

This is a matte finish product.

Application life:

Smooth Finish lasted approx. two hours before the skin began to show redness and oil again. I would recommend applying a primer before the makeup to help keep oil off the makeup. Do not apply too much product because it cakes onto skin. I

n all, if you are looking for flawless cover - there are better products out there; don't waste your money here. Spend a few extra dollars and purchase a makeup that is made for your specific needs. If you need a makeup to apply quickly to eliminate little redness and reduce oil, it wouldn't hurt to try.
