Makeup Tips: How to Look Beautiful and Wear Glasses

Tamara McRill
Women who wear glasses need to use makeup techniques and colors that compliment their look. The color and style of their glasses need to be taken into consideration. These makeup tips for women who wear glasses will help to enhance their beauty and keep them from hiding behind their frames.

Women with Glasses Makeup Tips: Concealer
Women who wear glasses need to learn the importance of concealer. Glasses will highlight any dark circles, wrinkles or imperfections under the eyes. Lightly dot concealer on dark circles and blemishes. Gently blend in concealer with a makeup sponge. Do not tug on under eye skin, as this skin can be easily damaged.

Women with Glasses Makeup Tips: Eyeliner
Women who wear glasses would be better off to avoid black liquid eyeliner. This makeup product will look too harsh, under the glasses' lens magnification. Pencil liners in soft black, brown or gray are more flattering.

Women with Glasses Makeup Tips: Mascara
Women with glasses should use caution when applying mascara. Too much mascara will make eyelashes look clumpy and ridiculous. An eyelash curler can be a woman who wears glasses' best friend. It can enhance the eyes, leaving little or no need for mascara. Also, if choosing to enhance the eyes with mascara, an eyelash curler will prevent mascara from getting all over the glasses' lenses. Be sure to curl before applying mascara.

Women with Glasses Makeup Tips: Eyeshadow
The style and color of women's glasses should dictate what color of eyeshadow is worn. For frameless glasses, most colors will work. Just avoid glaringly bright shades. With silver frames or gold frames, using the opposite metallic hue can look awkward. For heavy or color specific frames, go for soft neutral colors in beige, peach, pale pink or light brown. Strongly colored eyeshadow will compete with these frames for attention. Even if the eyes win, the look is still somewhat bizarre.

Women with Glasses Makeup Tips: Lipstick
For women who wear frameless glasses, lipstick just needs to complement the rest of the makeup. Women who wear metal framed glasses can get away with lip color, as long as it does not boldly overpower the eyes. Women who wear heavy or colored eyeglass frames should wear some lip color, to keep their lips from looking too pale. They may even get away with vibrant color, as it is balanced out by their frames.
