For the Easter baskets you will need baskets of different sizes, candy like m&m's or reeses or both, puzzle or coloring books, pencils, plastic eggs, stickers, cellophane paper, fake grass, ribbon, and paint. For the eggs you can use real eggs or fake ones, whichever you prefer.
Once you have gathered all the necessary items, take one of the baskets and color it (if it isn't colored already). Once it dries, fill it with fake grass. Take a couple of plastic eggs, fill them with the candy and color them as well , if desired. Place the eggs in the basket on the grass.
If you want to add pencils and puzzle or coloring books go ahead, if not then cut a piece of cellophane paper and place it under the basket. Add stickers, glitter, candy or whatever else you'd like to the front of the baskets.
Once you are satisfied with everything in it, bring up the cellophane paper around it and tie it with a colored ribbon. On the ribbon you can also stick stickers or candy on them and glitter if the baskets are for girls and you can add airplanes or cars for boys.
If you want to use real eggs to color, you have to boil them and wait until they are cool to touch before painting them. You can have your children paint the designs for the eggs. Or you can have them decorate the baskets.
Place all of your painted eggs and head out to the place where your children will have to search for them, and hide them. If you don't have a backyard, you can use your basement or living room to hide the eggs, just think of places that your children may see but not think of. For example if you have plants you can hide eggs in your plants. Or behind the radio, telephone, dvd, or tv. If you have statues that have openings that look like an egg will fit, you can place them here as well.
You can also bake cookies shaped like bunnies and eggs (eggs might be an easier shape) and have the children help you with the shapes. Don't worry about the messes, just have fun with it and use your imagination, your little ones will love to hunt for the eggs whether they are inside or out and it will be a moment they will remember for ever.

I love everything in print and showing my three children the joys as well. I believe that writing should be done whether you wish to gain from it or not as a way to express yourself. View profile
