I would take a break or two
I would never try attempts of more than three
As I would waste my time and what for
If I made a poem before five
I would still have to have dinner ready by six
After I set my table for six
I would not cook a dinner for one
I would add a plate for a guest and cook dinner for five
My side dishes would be that of two
My condiments would not be more than four
I would ensure there was a knife a fork a spoon all three
A plate, a soup bowl and a salad plate all three
All of these at the table there would be times six
I would start the meat on at four
There is a flower arrangement in the center but only one
Salt and pepper would proudly appear in the form of two
One small sippy cup and and wine glasses would appear enough for five
Each but one would have a water goblet for a total of five
Bread baskets a total would be placed down for a count of three
Butter dishes would accompany but only two
Dessert dishes would be set on the side board a placement of six
A desert knife would lay beside as I need only one
There would be coffee cups as well enough for four
My son and I don't drink coffee so there should only be four
Oh I cannot forget desert forks not more than five
A baby spoon for my son who is one
A cake with layers three
Will be served after supper for all six
The pieces left over will be a mere two
Pieces for later when my spouse and I wake up looking for a snack at two
What is left to do what am i looking for
oh yes napkins for six
Better hurry now it is way past five
the timer is set to go off in minutes exactly three
It is time to get moving and pour a glass for one.

Post a CommentHow clever you are to use numbers. Keeping track of those end words is tricky. (I just posted one too.)
