Making Your First Million Neopoints on Neopets

When I first wrote The Ultimate Guide to Making Your First Million Neopoints at Neopets.com, it was the beginning of 2007. This was almost four years ago now and many new Neopets dailies have been added as well as games and the amount of the site I have explored. I had to follow my own advice recently as my account got hacked and I lost two million Neopoints along with most of my items before I realized what had happened.

Becoming a Neopets Millionaire: Bank on It
The first thing you will need to do if you haven't already is create a bank account. Keeping your Neopoints on you is just asking for them to be stolen by ghosts plus you can collect interest on your bank account balance once per day. Visit your Neopets bank here to open an account or collect your interest if you already have one. Don't forget to update the status of your account when you reach new minimum balances to increase the amount of interest you earn.

Becoming a Neopets Millionaire: Dailies
Every day there are freebies and sites that you should visit to get items you can sell in your shop. Bookmark this article so you will always have links directly to each page and won't have to go searching through the whole Neopets website to find them every day.

Free piece of Giant Omelette can be collected daily from the Tyrannian Plateau, once per day.

Free piece of Giant Jelly is located in Jelly World, you can get one free piece of jelly here per day, just like the Giant Omelette.

Coltzan's Shrine is in the Lost Desert and can be visited once per day. You can earn points, your pets stats can increase, you can be awarded items, but sometimes nothing happens.

Tiki Tack Tombolais located on Mystery Island can be visited once per day. You can win points, prizes, or nothing at all.

Petpet Park Celebration allows you to look into Weltrude's Toy Chest and collect one item per day. You will usually be awarded with either a book or a toy, sometimes you can be awarded Neopoints.

The Snowager can reward you items if you come at the right time of day when he is sleeping which is 6am-7am, 2pm-3pm, and 10pm-11pm NST, you can see what the NST time is in the top right corner under your NP balance on every page on Neopets.

Deserted Tomb is located in Geraptiku, sometimes you will receive an item, sometimes you will be chased away.

Fruit Machine is located in Sakhmet, spin the wheel on a daily basis for a chance to win items and Neopoints.

Meteor Crash Site 725-XZ on the Meteors of Kreludor can be poked with a stick once per hour until you win a prize.

The Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity in Faerieland can be talked to once per day in hopes of receiving a reward.

Ye Olde Fishing Vortex in Maraqua can be visited every 12 hours. Each pet can fish once per 12 hours; your active pet will be the one fishing so you will have to switch it up.

Qasalan Expellibox is like Plinko on the Price is Right. You can visit it every 8 hours.

Healing Springs of Faerieland can be visited every 30 minutes. You may receive a healing item, your pets health can be restored, or you may receive extra health points which is helpful if you take your pets to the Battledome.

Mysterious Symol Hole of Meridell requires you to have a Petpet attached to your active pet.

Obsidian Quarry is located in Moltara City. You get a piece of Shiny Obsidian which is basically junk, but you can still put it in your shop to see if someone else wants it or give it to the Mone Tree, Second-hand Shoppe, or Rubbish Dump in hopes that it will help your changes of getting a random event.

Once per month, you can visit the Freebies page and be awarded Neopoints as well as one item for each pet you have.

Becoming a Neopets Millionaire: Feeding Your Pet for Free
I don't ever take my pets into the Battledome so I don't usually feed them. Your Neopet will never starve to death, if you go months without playing and come back, they will still be alive and attached to your account. Any food that I get on a daily basis I put into my shop. There are a few different places on the site where you can feed each of your pets for free on a daily basis:

Soup Kitchen requires you to have less than 3,000 Neopoints total despite whether they are in the bank or just sitting in your account.

Movie Central - go through the door on the left side of the screen to get to the free food.

Capri Sun Disrespectoids Clubhouse - click on the refrigerator to feed your pets for free.

Six Flags! - click on the hamburger shaped kiosk that says snacks to feed your pets for free.

Becoming a Neopets Millionaire: Open Up Shop
You should always have items in your shop. It does cost some points to open one, but it is well worth it to get rid of all the extra items you pick up doing your Neopets dailies. Make sure your shop always has items in stock. To make sure you are pricing everything to sell, check the Shop Wizard to see what the ballpark low price for each item and price accordingly. I used to price everything 1 or 2 NP lower than what was on the Wizard. I have started pricing a little more towards the average now and I seem to sell items a little slower, but I am earning more per item. Sometimes when checking for prices on the Wizard I see someone else selling items that I'm searching for really cheap so I buy more and turn around and sell it in my shop.

Becoming a Neopets Millionaire: Referrals
Refer Your Friends by e-mail. You will be awarded Neopoints and items for each friend that joins. Not only will you receive the referral rewards, but the entire website will be more enjoyable if your friends are on there so you have people to challenge for games.

Becoming a Neopets Millionaire: Toolbar
Install the official Neopets Toolbar to have quick links added to your toolbar of the Neopets dailies, games, and your favorite websites that are not even Neopets related. You will get a flashing orb sometimes that lets you know there is something special going on like freebies, an event, or a special message.

Becoming a Neopets Millionaire: Games
You can easily earn thousands of Neopoints per day playing flash games. Every day there is a featured game which will award you double Neopoints for playing. So if it is a game you are good at, you can earn 6,000 Neopoints for playing that game for the 3 time daily limit. Find games you like, add them to your favorites and play them to their limit each day.

Becoming a Neopets Millionaire: Game Cheats
The Daily Neopets has a great Neopets Cheats and Neopets Code List with tons of codes to help you earn more Neopoints. Some people choose to play Neopets without cheat codes, but I don't think that cheating on flash games really makes enough of a difference to hurt other players.

Becoming a Neopets Millionaire: Play the Stock Market
Visit the Neopets Stock Market page here. Once you have 15,000 Neopoints you can spend, you are ready to go play the stock market. You can buy up to 1,000 shares per day of any stocks that are at least 15NP. I buy 1,000 of the 15NP shares of any company that is listed that low on a daily basis. It is the safest way to play. Shares that are more expensive might go much higher, but they can also fall much lower. 15NP shares are almost guaranteed to go higher, but it might take some time. It is worth it with the return. I always buy 1,000 of the same type of shares because it costs 20 points to sell them and you want to make sure you aren't spending more than you earned by playing.

Becoming a Neopets Millionaire: Key Quest
I have recently started playing Key Quest as a Neofriend recommended I try it to help earn my stolen millions of Neopoints back. Not only do I love the game (it honestly was easier to figure out on my own rather than reading through the instructions), but it is also a great way to earn an unlimited amount of Neopoints, and quite a few items per day. I like to play with 2 players and 5 keys, it makes your game shorter with less people, but you still get the benefit of the most prizes because you are playing with 5 keys.

Key Quest is basically a virtual board game. You are awarded a key at the end of each completed game whether you win or lose which will open a door in the Key Quest Vault. Gold keys award 4 prizes, silver keys award 3 prizes, bronze award 2, and lead awards 1. The more keys in your game, the better the final reward key and the more prizes you will get. You can redeem 10 keys per day at the vault, but you can win more than that daily playing them game.

Becoming a Neopets Millionaire: Conclusion
Collect your dailies and sell what you don't want in your shop. Collect your interest, and then deposit any Neopoints you have earned into your bank account. Move on to playing games, Key Quest is one of my favorites because you earn points and items for playing. Invest some of your earnings in the stock market, bank the rest. You can earn many thousands of Neopoints on a daily basis following this formula and can become a Neopets millionaire in a matter of weeks if you play the game for a few hours on a daily basis. It might sound like a lot of time invested, but Neopets is a highly addictive game, I have been playing for almost a decade now and I still keep going back for more.
