So what's the problem, or is it excuses? I don't have time, I don't feel motivated, It's too late to make a difference, yada, yada.
So many studies have now proven the many benefits of getting off the couch and making a dedicated effort to change your fitness mindset. Just a twice a week bicycle ride or long walk will do wonders for your self esteem and start a gradual weight loss. It could be as simple as leaving the car at home, and riding to that restaurant you go to for breakfast on Saturday morning, if that's too far, find one closer to you. Just riding through the quiet residential streets near you, waving at people tending their lawn makes for a pleasant start to your day.
Whatever you start out with, don't try to do too much too soon. That's a sure recipe for burnout. Just a walk around the block will do.
Keeping motivated will be difficult at times, but knowing why you want to make a change will keep you on track. If you find yourself falling off the wagon at times, forgive yourself and get back on track. It really helps to make it fun, with little rewards along the way. When you lose five pounds, reward yourself with buying something you wanted, or that movie you wanted to see. Starting a journal could do wonders for you, such as keeping track of your goals, jotting down what you ate and what you did every day to reach them.
Develop the fitness habit, and before you know it, you will feel energized and looking forward to doing what you dreaded.
