Making Good Luck Candle Charms

Red Devil
Everyone loves rabbit's feet, horseshoe necklaces, four-leaf clovers and the like. Practically everybody has their good luck charms, be it a lucky blanket, a key-chain or a belt. Society bases a lot of beliefs on good luck objects.

No matter what religion you may be, we all have our superstitious lucky trinkets and our hopeful little sayings...rain, rain, go away come again some other day. There is a place for good luck charms in every religion.

Here is a candle charm that you can have fun with over and over again.
- Get your favorite color candle, preferably a tall candle, but a votive would work also. Gel candles won't work so don't bother wasting your time trying to use one with this charm.

- Use something such as a small knife, needle or pin, anything with a point so you can carve into the candle. Now, think of your wish or anything that you need luck with, or just a lucky saying, and carve it into your candle...it doesn't have to be neat just as long as you can read it and keep up with where you are at. Sometimes it can be hard if you lose your place especially with a white candle, you have to feel for where you are at.

- Now, light the candle and watch the beauty of the flame. Let it burn until it is gone. If you can not do that, then be sure and keep relighting it when you are able until it is gone.

The symbolism of this is that the smoke from the candle will carry your wishes, good luck wishes, whatever you wrote onto the candle, to a place of your belief. For example...Heaven. To whomever or wherever you believe your dreams and wishes can come true. Girls love to do this at slumber parties.

If you rub the candle with olive oil, it helps reduce the amount of wax that spills over the sides of the candle or at least slows it down.

Of course, DO NOT leave your candle burning unattended or when you leave. This is very dangerous for obvious reasons. ALWAYS be careful when handling lit candles and keep flammable objects away from your lit candle.

Have fun with this candle charm, because the possibilities are endless. It just might become your favorite good luck charm.
