Making Hang-Up Skeletons for Halloween

Shannon Frye
This is a craft which is very easy to do. You can do this with friends, family or your children. The only things that you will need is some white construction paper, a hole puncher, black string and some scissors. This is a very inexpensive way to decorate your home or business. You can hang up some of the skeletons for the day and then let the kids take the skeletons home to show their parents. You will want to make sure that you have everybody write their names on the skeletons so that you can tell them apart.

The first thing that you will want to do is draw out a template. You will want to number the pieces so that everybody knows which pieces they need to trace around. You will first want to draw out the head. Draw the basic shape of a skull. You can use a marker to fill in the eyes, nose and mouth. You will then want to draw out a backbone with some ribs. You will draw a basic straight shape with some ribs coming off of the sides. You can cut out the entire shape and have everybody draw in the ribs.

You will need to draw out the arm bones with the hands. You can draw out the basic shape and have everybody draw in the two arm bones along with the fingers. You will need to do the same for the leg bones and the feet. You can also draw out two circular shapes for the hips. You should leave them connected. Once you have all of the bone templates you will want to pass them around one by one. Make sure that everybody gets to trace all of the template pieces.

Once everybody has traced all of the bones you will need to have everybody cut them out. Then they can fill in extra things with a pen or marker. Once all the pieces done you will want to use a hole puncher to create a way for the bones to connect. You will then tie little pieces of string to connect all of the bones together. You will want to use the hole puncher to hang up the skeleton by the skull. Once the skeletons are all done you can see how they all look and hang them up. This is very easy to do and it's fun as well.
