Making Money with Factoids

T. Jay Kane
Factoidz.com is an article submission site powered by freelance writers who share in the advertising revenue generated by their articles. Article contributors are called experts, and the articles they produce are called factoids. Factoidz.com bills itself as a "community for experts." Writers are rated based on reader opinions of articles. Readers can also follow their favorite content producers and be alerted via e-mail or twitter when their favorite experts have posted new articles. Writers are also ranked based on how many articles they have written. Writers who post under three articles are called members. Contributors have published from three to nine articles. Authors have published from 10 to 24 articles. Experts have published from 25 to 49 articles. Mavens have published from 50 to 74 articles and are now eligible to become moderators. Guides have published 75 to 99 articles. Pros have published 100 to 149 articles. Publishing between 150 and 199 articles will earn the writer the title of Authority. Masters have written from 200 to 299 articles. A Guru is a writer who has published 300 or more articles. There are 10 writer titles that can be earned in total.

Earnings from articles are calculated based on the quality level that a Factoidz.com moderator has assigned your article. Based on the quality ranking writers earn between $1 and $5 for every 1,000 page impressions. This means that writers earn the most money when a high quality article is viewed more frequently. Individuals who apply for moderator positions earn even higher payout rates and can earn between $4 and $8 for every 1,000 page impressions.

Factoids are meant to be short and to the point articles that are informative and factual. Factoidz.com is a site that only desires top-notch articles from people who know what they're talking about. The more factual and unique an article, the more likely it is to earn a higher rating from the Factoidz.com moderator reviewing the article prior to publishing. Writers are able to track how many times their articles have been viewed and how much they are earning. Writers can also track how many followers have decided to track their factoids. Being able to see that there are fans of your articles who want to know when you post your next article can be very inspiring for those struggling with writer's block.

Earnings from Factoidz.com are transferred to the writer every month via PayPal.com and there appears to be no minimum payout requirement in effect. That means that if an article only earns $0.38, then a writer can expect $0.38 in his or her PayPal account around the first of the month. This payment system was well received by writers when Factoidz.com switched from a Google Adsense system which required that writers have a particularly high minimum of earnings before money could be transferred into the writer's bank account.

Any person who makes money on the web as a freelance writer will tell you that the secret to profits is writing for multiple websites. Adding Factoidz.com to the list of websites that you write for will be a rewarding and profitable experience if the freelance writer is serious about making money.
