Making Money Online with Break.Com: A Review

Stephen Pomposello
Break.com is social media video upload website much like Metacafe. As a member of Break.com, you have the opportunity of making money for posting your own original videos, games, and pictures. When you post a short original video that you filmed yourself and it makes it to Break.com's homepage, Break.com will then pay you anywhere up to $2000 for the video. In the case of an original picture that you took or created yourself and it gets posted on Break.com's gallery, you will be paid $25. Last but not least, if you create an original and interesting game, all you need to do is simply e-mail it to Break.com with a request to post if on the game channel of the site, if successful, you are also eligible to be paid anywhere up to $2000.

Noted for being one of the top leading video sharing sites on the web, Break.com is filled with the same type of amateur videographers that you would find on YouTube and pretty much any other video sharing site. But who cares as long as they pay right? And yes, they certainly do pay, just as they promise. The pay is rather fair and competitive ($400 for original videos and $2000 for produced short films, for example), they even go as far as having a "Girl of the Day" feature where Break.com pays $50 to the Girl of the Day and $500 to the top rated Girl of the Day for each individual month. And no, before you ask, there is no "Boy of the Day" feature on Break.com, unfortunately.

Break.com is as legit as legit get paid sites come, they pay via Paypal and you receive payment within one week tops. But the issue is submitting the right kind of original video that they are looking for and then making it to the front homepage of the site because you don't get paid for your video unless it hits that milestone. Welcome to the competition, buddy. So you can probably imagine how heartbreaking it is when your most creative video that you've conjured up and put so much effort and work into doesn't even make it to the front page of Break.com.

That's fine and all, but it would be appreciative if Break.com gave the rejected videos some form of payment, it doesn't even have to be high, maybe $1, $5, or $8 for videos that don't make it to the front page. Overall though, Break.com is full of paid opportunities regardless. It's much easier to get into than YouTube's program, that's for sure.
