Making the Most Out of the Fall Season

Ron Noble
As the days of summer wind down into Autumn we are often weary of the coming cooler weather. Many times, and this goes double for those i know, people pay less attention to this beautiful time of year and instead get into a pattern of less activity. It's about eliminating the pattern of getting into the fall slump. In this guide of sorts I'll be giving you some ideas on how to make the most out of the fall season's opportunities.

The first thing is to get yourself into the season much like you do for somewhere. You've got to realize the positive aspects of the season. Think of the sights and sounds of the leaves being like flames flowing and rustling through the breeze. Think about that and then envision the beauty of the Autumn sky at twilight. Imagine the memories you could be making with family and/or friends in this Autumnal setting. So go on from there.

Set aside a day or even a few days during October and November for a picnic in the evening. Complete with, of course, warm clothing and items for a campfire. Find a place with no one else around, preferably in an area with trails, and have a picnic with seasonal foods. As the sun sets and everyone is finishing up their meal have them make their way to the campfire. Just let things go naturally from there. This is the perfect time for trading of stories. Especially those of the paranormal type before Halloween. Then there are recollections of memories with family members you haven't seen in a while. While you sit there, take in the whole of the natural feelings of your environment and let it drive. That alone, in the right mood, will guide the whole tone and feeling of the little gathering itself. To make it even better just have everyone camp out in tents under the Autumn sky.

The next morning, after everyone wakes, there's nothing better than apple pancakes done over the campfire with maple syrup to fit in with the season's settings. After breakfast, have everyone go on a trail walk through the woods. If you did some prior planning with the weather it'll be a clear, sunny and breezy day. Because there's nothing better than a walk on a forest trail as the leaves blow above and all around you. Not to mention how much all this clears everyone's minds. Make this a sort of routine in the fall season in any fashion and you'll definitely be making for not only a smooth taking of advantage of the season but also open up for more activities in the colder days of winter. After all, it's not about the lack of warm weather stopping activities but it's about becoming sedentary during the cold weather.

I can't speak for anyone of other nations but that's the problem with many of us Americans. We've become accustomed to just ignoring the beauty of the cooler seasons and just pack ourselves around our television and ignore the world around us just because it's colder. That's not making the most of any season and definitely not living. So, in this fall season, make it a practice to take in the season itself. Not only will you find yourself in a better mood and closer to family but you'll probably set yourself up for a smooth transition into the New Year. Perhaps you'll even achieve your New Year's resolution goal you've been trying to overcome for years.

It all starts with one step. And there's not better time than making the best out of the Autumn season.
