One of the first things that you need to make sure that you have is a crib for your newborn! Your baby, boy or girl, will need a place to sleep at night besides that bed that Mommy and Daddy sleep in. Giving your new bundle of joy a good night's rest is important, so buying a crib should be one of your top priorities! Wal-Mart actually sells a baby crib that is convertible from a newborn crib into a transitional bed when the child is 2 or 3. This crib also includes a changing table, as well as shelves to place the baby's necessities on it.
If you don't buy an all-in-one crib, however, you'll need to invest in an actual changing table. Buying a small dresser may suit this job, however, which will give you drawers to place the baby's clothes in. Using the top of it for changing your baby's diapers will work just as well as any other formal changing table would. Another thing, furthermore, that might be on your mind is where you will dispose of your diapers once you change your newborn. This is a dilemma that all parents must face. Do we put the dirty diapers in the trash can in our room or in the kitchen? What about the smell that the trash can will give off? One product that will give you an edge over all of that is the Diaper Genie by Playtex Products, Incorporated. The Diaper Genie will not only provide you with a special trash bin to dispose of the diapers, but it will seal off the smell so that your house will be odor-free!
In addition to all of that, you may want to stock up on necessary baby products so that you'll have them before the baby arrives. Buying diapers and other things, like baby powder and wet wipes, will ensure that you have them now so that you don't need to worry about it later. A good suggestion would be to buy a bundle or pack of diapers once a week several months before the baby arrives. By doing this you'll be sure that you have a good enough supply of diapers until you need more.
Doing all of these necessary things will allow you to rest instead of rushing around everywhere when the baby is finally born. Let's face it- you'll want to spend all your time with your newfound happiness, and preparing beforehand will save lots of heartache when the time comes!
