These are some of the things that I make sure to bring with me as a trucker's wife
Comfortable Clothes-
Make sure that you bring clothes that are not stylish that will cause you discomfort, so you might want to just leave that little black dress at home. Most of the time on these type of road trips, it is a time for you to sit down and relax with your husband. This is a road trip mainly to go out and look at the lay of the land and go to places that you have never been before. Most truck drivers do not get very long to make any stops and so you want to make sure that you pack something more like jeans and a tee shirt. You also want to bring comfortable Pajamas with you and make sure to bring plenty of socks. It can become really uncomfortable on your road trip if you have to sleep in your jeans. Make sure to have a change of clothes for everyday that you are out on the road.
Bring HBA Products -
When you are going on the road with your husband, you might be able squeeze in a shower in the morning. Make sure to bring shampoo and conditioner since most truck stops will not supply these items for you and also body wash. There is nothing worse than having to get these things out on the road because truck stops are known for their high priced items. You might also want to make sure to bring your make up and your perfume, just because you are stuck in a truck does not mean that you do not have to look nice for yourself or your husband even if you are dressed down. Lastly you will need Deodorant, this is a must there is nothing worse than getting on the road and smelling back because it might be a couple of hours before you make anymore stops if not 5-6 so this is something that you want to make sure to pack first, so that you do not forget it.
Comfortable Shoes-
As women we love our shoes, but this is not the time to pack your high heels. It might be ok if you have strong feet and can handle these types of shoes, but if you cannot stand to be in them more the 1 hour you should just leave them at home. Instead a good option would be a nice pair of sneakers that are already broke in. It is true that you might be stuck in a truck a long time when going on a road trip, but when you do have to get out and walk around the truck stops, this could become uncomfortable very quick.
Bring Something To Do With You-
Sure this is a time to spend with your husband, but it can also cause you to fall asleep. If you are someone that has to be constantly doing something, then the best option for you is to bring, handheld games, crossword books, books to read, and your MP3 player. This will give you something else to do when your husband is not talking to you.
Just because you are stuck in a truck all day, does not mean that it has to be boring. It can be fun to go on a road trip with your husband if you bring the right things with you. This guide should help it to make it an enjoyable trip and make sure that you can enjoy looking at the scenery and spending time with your husband.
