Making Smashbox Photo Finish Even Better!

Matt
Smashbox Photo Finish is already a terrific product. I use it daily to prep my face for my foundation. It creates a smooth, silky surface that actually allows your foundation to do its job better. Photo Finish is great if you have fine lines or large pores, its literally smoothes right over them! A non-oily version is sold, and all versions promote better skin health with excellent ingredients like Vitamins A and E, grape seed extract and green tea.

Sounds pretty hard to improve, but I think it would be possible. The first would be on the variations offering SPF protection. Right now, the only SPF option is for a level of 15. That is a pretty meaningless level of protection, truth be known. I would like to see the manufacturers increase the SPF value to at least SPF 30. This would offer much improved protection from sun damage. I would especially like to see the bronzer version of Photo Finish include SPF protection!

Second improvement would be in packaging and economy. Right now, the larger versions all feature a pump dispenser. While the pump dispenser does a good job making sure you only use a small amount, it cannot effectively empty the entire bottle. A lot of product is wasted, which is both annoying and a waste of money. The travel version is a more typical squeeze tube, which is efficient, but it is quite small. I would like to see the manufacturers offer the option of a larger, squeeze tube. I think the consumer can be careful to use this product sparingly, which is all that is necessary since a little goes a long way!

Next, Smashbox offers another product (a foundation) that includes a cooling agent. I think it would be great if Photo Finish offered that as a product option. Sometimes during the summer, I use the bronzing version of Photo Finish without a foundation and a quick cool-off would be wonderful.

Lastly, is a complaint against this particular product and also the Smashbox company as a whole. I searched their entire website to find out their policy on animal testing. This is an important issue for many consumers, and they should put that information right out in front where everyone can read it. Since they haven't indicated their policy, I am willing to guess that they use animal testing to develop their product lines. Since so many cosmetic manufacturers are now able to provide safe products without animal testing, I would like to see Smashbox eliminate animal testing.
