Using Natural Resources as Seasonal Decorations
Pine cones are a great way to add some seasonal flair to your home. Grab some fallen ones, sprinkle some glue-on glitter on top and use them to from a dining or coffee table centerpiece. Or use them to surround the bottom of your Christmas tree to create a more natural feel.
All natural poinsettias are a great "pick me up" for your home. Use them in place of plastic or synthetic decorations. They are actually perennial plants, so they can be cared for and kept all throughout the year. With it's bright, cheery red color, it can boost the atmosphere of any room in your house at any time.

Using Solar Powered Lighting

Decorating your home for Christmas? You might want to rethink what kind of indoor and outdoor lighting you'll be using this time. With the popular surge of solar powered lighting, there's no wonder why they are such a huge hit. Not only do they cut down energy consumption and your electric bill significantly, but it also benefits the environment. Solar powered lighting is best for outdoor décor, and best in sunny climates, although, it can still function on cloudy days. Solar powered décor lighting can be purchased at mass merchandise stores and home improvement stores and tend to cost the same amount, if not less, than regular bulb lighting.

Using LED Candles
When the weather becomes cooler, bring out the candles makes your home feel more cozy. Instead of bracing the risk of accidental fire and being in contact with harmful paraffin wax, why not opt out on the commercial candle and use an LED candle instead? It does not use electricity and does not pose the risk of fire. They look and give the feel of real wax candles and as inexpensive too. They can be purchased at mass merchandise stores and come in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit the style of your home. What is great about these is that they are also recyclable.
