They do not merely work outside of the box. The box has been redesigned by them. Their take on the modern day home is sensitive to the environment and lifestyle of the persons who will inhabit the area and living space. The house do not only come alive through their design concepts but it breathes. The walls and ceilings inhale and exhale with every curve and stretch of material used to create the home. Every home designed by Makoto Takei and Chie Nabeshima is truly one of a kind. The clients wishes are most certainly this design duals command.
When a box size Japanese home came to the stumbling block with lighting issues being the on the limited side the idea to redirect light from the roof became the solution. The entire rooftop surface became a glass replacement onto the designer building. Immediately there was light flooding the entire building from top to bottom. This was no easy task as the entire building had to be slanted at an angel conducive to introduction of light into the previous darken living space. The end result was genesis . This pleasing home for both architects and client immensely is called the Mosaic House.
The use of natural material utilized in the building process of their architectural masterpieces make these one hit wonder designs friendlier to the environment. Sustainable building is so now and of the day. The designing genesis' use light and natural in an untapped way that set their design techniques apart from the pack. One such designer home made completely of glass and wood is The Ring House, a wooden retreated tucked away in secluded wonderland Forest. Located in the town of Karuizawa, 185 miles north west of the Japanese capital, this home is literally encased in rings of glass and wood creating uninterrupted 360 views of the forest.
This was an unlikely building site by normal standards as the plot used was fairly uneven. The lack of perfect conditions for this building plot only made building upon the plot location even more appealing to these designer visionaries. With their architectural firm called TNA Architects the sky holds no limits to the creativity and vision they together continued created.
