Malabar Farm Restaurant Brings the Flavor of Bromfield's France to the Mansfield, Ohio Area
A Perfect Place to Dine when Visiting Malabar Farm State Park
Malabar Farm Restaurant Brings Bromfield's France to the Table
Before starting Malabar Farm in the late 30s, Louis Bromfield lived in France, moving there shortly after winning the Pulitzer Prize in 1927 for Early Autumn.
The menu at Malabar Farm Restaurant reflects Bromfield's time in France, featuring many dishes using the creamy sauces typical of French Cuisine. An excellent crème brûlée also highlights the restaurant's dessert selections.
Various pasta dishes are also available, as well as an old-fashioned cheeseburger. On a recent visit to the restaurant, the Croque Monsieur also provided a nice French take on a ham and cheese sandwich.
All meals come with an excellent freshly-baked sweet bread served with butter. The menu also features a nice array of salads, including the signature Chicken Caesar Salade.
The Historical Setting at Malabar Farm Restaurant is Unmatched
Malabar Farm Restaurant features many paintings and photographs highlighting both Louis Bromfield and the Pleasant Valley area's collective history.
The restaurant's ambiance reminds of dining in a far-gone colonial era. During the warmer months, patio seating is also available, providing pristine views of Pleasant Valley and Malabar Farm.
The Malabar Farm Market is located on the same property as the restaurant and is open from Memorial Day through October. The market features some produce grown on Malabar Farm.
When visiting the Mansfield, Ohio vacation area, including Malabar Farm State Park, and the nearby Mohican State Park and Resort, make time for a visit to Malabar Farm Restaurant. It's convenient to both state parks and provides a quality dining experience with a true sense of history.
