Malcolm Washington, Denzel Washington's Son, Plays First Penn Basketball Game
Malcolm Washington Didn't Play in His First Penn Basketball Game
Malcolm is probably very happy to have his dad cheering him on in the crowds. Children - no matter how young or old- always like it when their parents show interest in what they do. Having a famous parent has to be hard, as the paparazzi and media is always quick to ruin everything. However, Denzel Washington didn't let potential photo opps stop him from watching his son's first Penn basketball game.
According to Newspost, Denzel Washington ducked a reporter and remained largely inconspicuous in the crowd. Denzel was lucky to be able to attend Malcolm's Penn State basketball game, as he was in Philadelphia filming his new movie "Unstoppable."
Surprisingly, Malcolm Washington is only 5' 9", making him a small basketball player. However, he is very talented and walked on to the Penn basketball team. According to Entertainment Daily, Malcolm didn't get to play in his first Penn basketball game, and his team lost 70-55.
Denzel Washington is one of the best-known actors of our time. He has been in a variety of movies, including one of my personal favorite movies "The Bon Collector." You never hear of any scandals, or any bad press regarding Denzel Washington or his family. In fact, his son's first Penn basketball game was the first family news involving the actor in a long, long time.
While Denzel is filming his new movie "Unstoppable" in central Pennsylvania, he could have another amazing role that could gain him a significant amount of popularity. Denzel could play Obama in an upcoming biopic of our nation's first African-American President. However, on the "Late Show" Denzel joked that the President may prefer actor Will Smith instead, citing his more prominent ears.
Denzel did a good job of blending in at Malcolm's first Penn basketball game. He fit right in with the crowd, and didn't even take time to answer reporter's questions. He kept a low profile and made sure that the focus remained on the Penn Basketball team, and not the fact that he was attending the game.
Hopefully Malcolm Washington will be able to play in some of this season's games. He was not able to play this time around.

Poor reporting....Malcolm plays basketball for University of Pennsylvania and not Penn State. Big difference!!! U of P is an Ivy League school.
