How common is male-bashing? The answer is truly disturbing.
Ever heard the term "deadbeat dad?" The reality is fathers pay more of their child support orders, and more often, than mothers do. In other words, for all parents with child support orders, there is a higher percentage of "deadbeat moms" than "deadbeat dads." How often do you hear the term "deadbeat mom?"
Do you have a teen son who has a relationship with a girl who hits him? Does he play-it-off like it's not a problem? Maybe that's because our society is slow to accept the fact that females can be aggressive, dangerous, even lethal. The truth is teen and college-age females hit their partners more than males. Over-all females abuse and murder children and initiate partner aggression more often than males.
If you're a mom who lives in California you might think you could turn to the California Women's Law Center to learn how to help your son. What you'd find is a brochure called "Teen Dating Violence: An Ignored Epidemic." I'm sorry to say, you won't find the support or solutions you're looking for. According to this brochure, only females are victims and only males are perpetrators.
It can't be this bad, right? Oh yes, it gets worse.
Male-bashing (literally) has even made it into the comics. You know something is accepted in our society when it's part of a comic strip. In the comic strip ZITS a man tells a woman "Happy New Year." Her response is to deck him with her backpack. The humor is supposed to come when the woman blames her action on PMS and feeling a little emotional.
So, when is this going to stop?

Post a CommentI agree wholeheartedly with this article.
As a single dad of a teenage daughter - i get bombarded with anit-male/anti-dad messages from the teen world.
I created a lens on squidoo about male-bashing in advertising that I think readers of this article would find enlightening.

thanks.
There is a website showing a horrible case of apparent anti-male bias that resulting in a man no wliving in a tent it seems! The misandry even seems to have gone into the court! http://rainingdaylight.angelfire.com/.
Thank you for your comment John.
I went through an extremly abusive marriage in 2002-03. And what I found out was staggering; basically " Men are the abusers and women are victims" ...Case closed.
It is my opinion the phrase "deadbeat dad " seem to be a overdue lawsuit since it is basically name calling, clear and simple.
I'm glad there are some women who agree with this and will admit that this needs to stop instead of just blowing it off and continue stereotyping men I'm NOT saying all women do that but i sure do know some who do!
It looks like some men are now starting to fight back.

Both male bashing and femal bashing are hallmarks of perpetual immaturity and I wonder if males and females will ever be able to get along with each other without acting like five year olds. IMO I don't think they will.
Yeah, all gender stereotypes arre my biggest pet peeve. But the "hitting like a girl " thing and other female bashing is not near as common or acceptable. You never see commercials where they degrade women and make them look stupid. Second being more aggressive or gentle, is a forgotten about (if only existent half the time as a sterotype) stereotype if you watch television. I don't even like stereotypes when the oppsite sex is dealing with the opposite sex eg. would Venusians "be themselves " on Mars. It's disturbing and I try to deny what they are trying to say. For another example in psychology under gender differences in communication they show two males and two females. But as far as sexsim goes, it'ss a quarter of the population; Men, Women, boys and girls. They will come in every different way. Abnd if people thought more when they spoke, on televsion and movies the passive and gentle , and more aggressive stereotype is hardly even spoke of the sexism is more about activities,
thank you for defending men, second I think soaps are to blame for that too, women see how the wife sleeps around, manipulates her husband and treats him like crap. I think if we want for men and women to be equals we need to stop this type of nonesense.
Thank you for the kind words.
